very close on the poll why dont you ****s back mosley with ya money then maybe i can get some more value on backing floyd
Fair enough mate but as soon as I saw the link above I was sceptical. Doug Fischer works for Ring.... Golden Boy own the ring.... Mosely is a part owner of the ring and best mates with the CEO.
Fischer has never been that way. Just read his stuff at MaxBoxing. He's been plenty critical of GBP, particularly in regards to Hopkins recent fights.
Fair enough then. He makes a very good point with regards to the "Margs was Taylor made for Shane" comments all coming AFTER the fight had taken place. By the way when I made my post there I was just thinking outside of the box 'so to speak' and putting another spin on it. In my opinion Floyd will win because he is better than Shane and always has been. Nothing more, nothing less :good
Maybe so, but it's just the way I see the fight panning out, mate. I just think PBF will start pulling away after he's got a few rounds under his belt. Over a year off is also a ****ing long time as well, especially for someone Shane's age, and I think the lay-off will play a factor. As much as people say '154 was never Mosley's optimum weight', the fact remains that he had problems with Mayorga as well; as stupid as it sounds, maybe the performance against Margo flattered Mosley. We also will never know if the Margo that faced Mosley is the same beast that faced Cotto (and probably cheated his way to winning). It's still a massively intriguing fight, though, and I can't wait! I'd say it's 60-40% (maybe slightly more) in PBF's favour. If SSM wins, how will it go down with defining victories across the ages? Could we call it a 'major' upset?:think
I posted this on another thread. It's a fundamental thing with Floyd although is a highly skilled fighter he lacks aggression when met with aggression he is naturally a defensive fighter. Floyd more at 147 waits for his moments of lack of activity from his opponent before he takes most of the control of tempo and domination and starts staying in the pocket and getting off his shots. Shane needs to find ways in the 1st half of the fight to try and slip Floyd's straight right pot shots and try countering them, because in the 1st few rounds that’s what Floyd will try to do his lunging in pot shots, he got to keep pumping a good jab and select his shots not waste too much energy because this is part of what Floyd will want him to do. Zab showed a few weak points in the 1st few rounds, fast speed, workrate, straight punches can get Floyd so he needs to do these. When Floyd closes the range and stays mostly in then out the pocket in the later rounds that’s when he does his good work and damage.
ive been thinking nazim could be a key factor but i can see only one result and thats UD win for floyd.
Mayweather shines again... He's drawn Nazim into the games too!! Something Nazim said he wouldn't take part in, He is now fully into Mayweather's mindset.. I see Mayweather putting on a masterclass here guys I really do, After this he'll probably be regarded as P4P #1 again too.. Although for me he has always been that... The guy does no wrong for me...:good
Mayweather by comfortable decision. 117-111 something in that realm. As Dan684 says prior to his great performance against Margarito, Mosley was outboxed at times by Mayorga and he had no answer for Cotto's jab. Mayweather will take around 4 rounds to find his feet and then run away with the fight. Apart from Margarito (a man who is made for Mosley) Shane hasnt looked all that good in ages.
Naazim called this before the ****ing fight! He said something like, you're all making out Margo is some kind of beast so when Shane beats him give him his dues. Don't say Margo was overrated. I'll see if I can find the exact quote. Fischer is the best writer on the Ring's site IMO. Anyway, I think Floyd wins this on points, quite comfortably after some early trouble. Floyd always takes 2 or 3 rounds to figure his opponent out and Shane might capitalise on that bus the fight goes on he'll start to dominate. The layoff won't help Mosley.
Only simpletons think that Nazim has been sucked in by simply telling Mayweather he's not interested. Take that as you wish.
Can't see past Mayweather, think he'll win fairly well on points. Mosley didn't exactly do too well with Cotto when he boxed with him, Mayweather isn't going to be doing anything stupid.
