Who is better boxer today than Ezzard Charles? SRR? Archie Moore? Henry Armstrong? Charley Burley? Seriously, most eyes don't see any improvement from 1940s.

not necessarily today but in years after those dates.
Durán, for example, he was after Henry Armstrong and for me, duran is better.
And not only do I mean to be better technically but due to the advances in nutrition and training a modern boxer who is not necessarily better than the one of the past could beat him for physical advantages.
Charles was a force in the heavyweight of his day and today he wouldn't do **** in that weight class

To you and it's one fighter in 80 years of boxing history after Armstrong. Even if you believe that Duran is better than Hank (and that's a big if), it just shows that we witnessed someone even better than him - not that the boxing improved. I mean, you won't find 10 better fighters at his weightclass than him in lasts 50 years.
But Charles would fight at LHW instead and he'd destroy the division. We're not talking about HWs here, Floyd is not bigger or more physically gifted than SRR.

I mean, if boxing really evolved you'd find many better fighters than Charles or Moore at LHW, or than Armstrong at LW.

Floyd has nothing for Ray Robinson, all he can do is try to go the distance. If he tries to fight and win he gets knocked out inside 10

No, but he'd be quite comfortably on top of the cruiserweight division. And this is the highest quality cruiserweight division ever.

And he'd decimate the light-heavyweight division.

Floyd would run and yet still get schooled. Robinson by a UD that is nowhere near close, with Mayweather barely dodging a stoppage more than once and landing nothing truly significant during the course of the entire fight.

Sugar Ray Robinson by a unanimous decision. Floyd Mayweather has not seen a fighter with those reflexes, speed and natural mobility. Those counters from Sugar Ray would prove too much.

As much as I'm more a fan of Burley, I'd go with Loma, having the overall better more complete skillset. Mayweather's skillset is clearly above all of those boxers.

So you found one example? It's not a proof of anything.
I also disagree that Floyd is clearly more skilled than Armstrong for example. Sure, he fought much different type of fight but does it make him less skilled?

Loma is the only one clear today. I could make arguments for the likes of Crawford, Alvarez, GGG too

Mayweather is better at hitting without getting hit than any of those historic boxers. In the modern era of punchstats Mayweather is the king of punch percent landed versus the punches landed on him. And in prime for prime comparisons only Roy Jones is better

Christ people really have Mayweather on a pedestal.
First, he wouldn't fight Robinson in a million years. If by some miracle the fight took place, this welterweight clash would be made at a catchweight of 128lbs, Robinson would be 67 years old, the ring would be 60 feet across, and Mayweather would act as both ref and sole judge, and he would still lose.
Second , this isn't a weight bullied Marquez, Conor Mcgregor,....or a Castillo or a Maidana...It's Sugar Ray Robinson.
Come on, even if Mayweather was the same size, he wouldn't beat Robinson. As it is, he has no chance.

Which just shows that there is no progression in boxing since then.
Alvarez and GGG over Charles and Moore? No way...
Do you have stats for prime SRR? Or Charles? If you don't, then this argument is pointless.

Come on .. fighters in Robinson's day were mechanical dweebs .. Floyd would dice Ray up at will and stop him with ten or so . .. ;) that bad humor aside Ray was too big naturally .. Floyd was so fast and gifted he may go the distance against the much bigger man but Ray would dominate enough to win decisively ..
