Who wins? Can Floyd's defence stifle Mosley's volume output and body attack?

Mayweather would beat Mosley pretty much every time.

Close fight. Mayweather had respectable power at the weight and was more aggressive. Mosley's "power boxing" style would give him fits.

Both have the speed. Mosley has the power.
I lean towards a Mosley decision based on landing the harder shots and commanding the pace.

Both in their primes l would take SSM and wouldn't be surprised if Mayweather got hurt sometime during the fight.

Great matchup. I like Mayweather in a close decision.

SSM would be a slight slight favorite to win

The Mayweather denigration around here is unreal. Mosley would eat jabs and get outboxed. It happened in real life.

Mosley. Theres a reason why Mayweather waited and waited and waited to fight him and even then an ancient Mosley covered in cobwebs wobbled Mayweather good. Mosley was a beast at 135. Fast, active, aggressive, durable, hard hitting, worked upstairs and downstairs. Hes the kind of guy that Mayweather would and did avoid.

Mayweather was much more aggressive sub 140. That would be very dangerous against the young powerful speedster that was LW Mosley. 50/50 for me too.

What basis do you have for alleging that Mayweather avoided him? Mayweather called him out several times over the years (as early as '99) and Mosley wasn't interested.

Mayweather-Mosley not taking place earlier was just bad timing. Mayweather won a title at 130 in September 1998, Mosley left 135 a few months later. There was some talk of a matchup between the two, I think Mayweather expressed interest, but no real negotiations to my knowledge.

Then there was talk of them possibly fighting in November 2006, Mayweather had the PPV date set. Mosley beat Fernando Vargas in July in the rematch, but said he couldn't face Mayweather because of his "toothache". Which I just took as "Oscar is my boss and he's fighting Floyd before I can".

I think Floyd was all wrong for Mosley. Floyd had some uneven performances at 135 but that was also because Castillo was just a tough style matchup (and a very good fighter). Mosley was never a pressure fighter like Castillo, he fought more like a speedy slugger. Floyd's superior boxing skills would frustrate Mosley, who had a tendency to go into defensive shells when he was getting tagged consistently.

Mosley wouldn't be an easy fight for Floyd, or just about anyone, but I think Floyd wins clearly. 8-4 type decision.
