Yes he lost by SD to Vilomar but that was a ten round fight and Arguello beat him the second time by UD. Shits happen in boxing.

Many people think that PBF lost against Castillo the first time and they say he got a gift too.

I am not saying that AA could have defeated PBF or all the ww, but your analysis is really poor.

    1. Arguello does what Tyszu couldnt? I think not, Hatton beat Tyszu he would beat Arguello who was largely unproven at 140

    2. Buchanon and Dejesus were decent but not spectacular. Different types of fighter to Castillo/Corrales but I think C&C could have both broken them down. Point is Mayweather's comp from 130-135 was probably better than Durans

    3. Hernandez was lineal and the top dog at 130. He beat Azumah Nelson

I'd favour Arguello over Hatton at 140. Hatton is there to be hit and Arguello hits a lot harder than Mayweather.

So Hattons putting on up to 20 pounds in a fight at 140?

As for Hatton walking thru Arguello at 140, no chance.

If the the same Arguello who lost the first time against Pryor would have fought the version of Hatton that just lost to PBF (at 140), then I'd say that AA would have defeated Hatton.

Arguello was a better boxer than Hatton, a lot better, and had great power in both hands. Arguello would have taken more punches than PBF but he would have hurt Hatton worst than what PBF did.

I wouldn't be surprised if AA stops Hatton because of cuts on his face, or by body punches. AA is very underrated when it comes to body punches.

Hatton is tailor made for AA....not tall and short reach. AA would time Hatton coming in and in his way out. Arguello was a great counter and good banger in the inside too. Watch Arguello vs Ganigan.

Think about the right hand that PBF hit Hatton with....that would have been the best weapon that AA would have used as well, but with more power.

Arguello is a much better infighter than Tszyu. Tszyu needs room to punch, this isn't necessarily so (to the same extent anyway) with Arguello. I think that alone could make all the difference.

To add to that, I think Arguello, was tougher than Tszyu and more resistant to punishment. No way Arguello quits against Hatton after 11 rounds. Check out the punishment Pryor (a bigger hitter than Hatton) dispenses on Arguello throughout their first fight. Tszyu by contrast (especially the one Hatton faced) would have folded after about 5 rounds of that assault.

Buchanan and DeJesus were never broken down by Castillo or Corrales level fighters during their primes. In fact, they consistently beat Castillo and Corrales level fighters; guys like Ray Lampkin, Edwin Viruet, Carlos Hernandez, Jim Watt, Ruben Navarro. Please don't say that Castillo or Corrales are better than these guys, because in all likelihood I'm being a little generous to Castillo and Corrales to put them on the same level.

Not only did DeJesus and Buchanan consistently beat that level of fighter, they also bested better fighters than the likes of Castillo and Corrales, such as Duran and Laguna.

Tyszu hit harder than Arguello and Mayweather but its about timing shots time and again without getting hit yourself. Tyszu and Arguello were both there for Hatton to hit and Hatton's offense is mighty impressive if he can get his shots off.

Hatton typically weighs 155 on fight night at 140, against Collazo he weighed 160lbs on fight night.

24 Hour Weigh Ins means allot of fighters fight an extra weight class below were they would usually. So if Hatton was fighting in Arguellos day he'd probably be a Welterweight.

Incidently Mayweather usually fights the same weight he weighs in at. So hatton probably outweighed Mayweather by a few pounds

    1. Hatton looks easy to beat but certainly isn't. Arguello is far weaker than the bigger stronger Tyszu and Hatton who are 2 of the strongest 140lbers of all time. Hatton closes the gap very quickly so Arguello may find himself getting mauled on the inside

If Arguello fights Hatton on the inside he will probably get stopped. Hatton in some ways has similar strengths to Pryor who ofcourse beat Arguello. Yes Hatton isn't as good in every way but hes stronger and a better bodypuncher

    2. Its a joke and completely biased to say Ray Lampkin, Edwin Viruet, Carlos Hernandez, Jim Watt, Ruben Navarro are on the level of Corrales and Castillo who were either bigger punchers, faster, fitter, stronger, bigger and better in fighters

Castillo and Corrales both beat Casamoya who is faster and possibly better skilled than Buchanon

Duran would be favoured to beat both C&C but who knows boxing has its upsets - see Duran against Laing/DeJesus

Tszyu probably hits harder with the right hand, but Arguello has a better distribution of power between both hands. Tszyu's left, particularly by the time of the Hatton fight, wasn't anything compared to Arguello's left. I can imagine a short sharp left, like the one that folded Olivares folding Hatton too.

Casamayor was ok in his prime(ages ago)but has never been anything special.I'd take Lampkin and possibly Viruet over him as better stylists.

To be honest i saw nothing from Floyd at lightweight that merits rating him over Ken or Esteban, and certainly not on the level of Duran or Whitaker.

Tszyu is stronger than Arguello, but is he tougher than Arguello? No way. Again, look at the punishment Arguello took off Pryor before he got stopped. Hatton isn't going to land anywhere near as much or with the same power that Pryor did and he won't set a higher workrate either. If Hatton plans on fighting the whole fight on the inside he will have to be walking through Arguello bombs all night and he won't be getting the respite in the trenches he got off Tszyu. Arguello is a competent infighter, which is part of the reason he forced Pryor to have to box and punch after a few rounds. He couldn't stand toe to toe with him or engage in a trench war without getting tagged and hurt.

Unbelievable.... Have you seen all these guys fight? If you have, I don't see how you could say Corrales and Castillo are better than them.

Watch the Laguna fights with Buchanan and come back and retract that statement. It's embarrassing.

The Laing fight happened against a past prime Duran. DeJesus is a level above a Corrales and Castillo im my mind quite clearly, so I don't see either of them ever beating a prime/near prime Duran like the one DeJesus beat.
