Forget Hearns, who would have been an absolute stylistic nightmare...

I'd pick a prime Vernon Forrest over Mayweather at 147

Viruet and lampkin are castillo and corralles level fighters even though they have never beaten anyone, haha. Powerpuncher, dont bother arguing with this moron, he treates corralles and castillo as if they are just journeyman, the guy is a dumbass.

Yo powerpuncher, wanna know how many contenders lampkin, viruet and navvaro beat together. 6 thats right, 6 ****in contenders they have beaten combined. Castillo has beaten about 10-12 ranked fighters his entire career and that joke wants you to believe that hes being generous to them. He think that just cuz he posts his little videos on youtube, it makes him a great poster. I'm glad me and shareef arent the only people that realize hes a joke.

You think Castillo's career would have been much different to theirs if he had fought when Duran was champion?.

I doubt it would have been

he would have beaten more ranked fighters. You cant compare yourself to castillo if you only beat 1 or 2 ranked fighters, i'm sorry.

Lets see how many top lightweights Castillos fought:

Mayweather (P4P fought twice, 5 weight champ)
Corrales (P4P fought twice 2 weight champ)
    Cassamaya (P4P, 2 weight champ)
Stevie Johnson (Champ & P4P, fought twice)
    Julio Diaz (future champ)
    Bazan (ex-champ)
    Lazcanno (top5 contender)

Castillos resume frankly is levels ahead of Buchanon and DeJesus and 1 of the most underrated resumes ever and thats not including sub-prime efforts against other champs like Hatton and Soto

Maybe he wouldn't beat Duran but Duran wouldn't have an easy time against Castillo. And if Dejesus upsets Duran and Castillo nearly upsets Mayweather maybe Castillo beats Duran on and off night

You're always into statistical analysis, trying to prove who won more titles, who beat more rated fighters, who's lineal, who's won titles in more weight divisions etc as if that's the only thing that counts in rating a fighter.

What you don't have a CLUE about is the level of competition in bygone eras. You treat a top ten contender today as if it's the equivalent of a top ten contender 50 years ago, as if it's a static thing that you could just analyse without knowing any context about the eras.

It's bull**** like that which would probably have you claiming things like Floyd Mayweather is a better welterweight than Billy Graham because he is lineal and Graham never even won a title.

Castillo would not have accomplished anything more than a Viruet did in Duran's era. Castillo lost to Corrales, he arguably lost to Stevie Johnston twice, and he arguably lost to Casamayor as well. These are all guys who would never have been champions or even the top of the heap of contenders in Duran's days.

The only joke here is you and everyone that knows boxing agrees. That you might get the respect of the odd guy that pops his head in from the general forum should be enough to suffice for your twisted ego, but at the end of the day, we all know the score here.

As for me putting some videos up on youtube  If it wasn't for posters like me doing it, I doubt you would have seen any fights from the past.

Duran's epoch of reigning at lightweight wasn't that good, it was mostly filled with mediocre fighters, who might have had some potential, but outside of a couple of fighters (Buchanan, DeJesus) they haven't done enough to prove they could realize it in any other era (without Duran). I'd expect them to be nothing but journeymen at best in Gans or Leonard epochs, while I'd expect Castillo and Corrales (who were at one time ranked in P4P Top 10) to be top contenders in any epoch.

He arguably won both fights against johnston and casamayor, neither is considered a robbery. Even without those fights his resume is still better than all 3 of those fighters put together.

There is a difference between losing to duran and de jesus and losing to every contender you fight. I highly doubt edwin viruet or ray lampkin would be world champs and p4p fighters in today's era either, they lost to every fighter worth a damn.

Everyone that knows boxing, lol. I do amatuer boxing and i train mma you ***, and i highly doubt ur youtube footage is the only videos of boxing i've seen. I notice you dont put up the fights where whitaker is made to look bad, lol. Geez i wonder why.

Do you think Castillo and Corrales would have been ranked top 10, or even 20 for that matter, p4p at any point in the 70's? I doubt it.

And what do you think Corrales and Castillo would have proved with the likes of Duran, Buchanan, DeJesus, Laguna, Arguello etc. around them?

They'd have lost to all those guys and then be having close bouts with the next rung up, the Lampkins, Viruet's, Hernandez's, Escalera's and Everett's, just like Castillo and Corrales were having close fights with the Johnstons, Casamayors, Lazcano's and the like.
