Mayweather's known as the best defensive fighter of our era, but how would his style compare to one of the greatest knockout artists to lace 'em up?

I see a very fast paced first half of the fight, with Floyd able to defensively cover up for the first 4 or so rounds, but Hearns reach would be able to push past the shoulder roll, and catch Floyd with a big shot or two. Then the second half would consist of a slower, pick and choose fight, where Floyd potshots and covers up while Hitman breaks the body down. I don't see Floyd surviving those shots to do enough damage himself. Hearns hits a hell of a lot taller than anyone he's faced. After the body work, Floyd won't be so "Pretty" anymore.

    Hearns KO 10

He's known as a great defensive fighter for his propensity to take on opponents that aren't going to challenge him offensively.

Hearns is big, fast, long, and powerful.

Hearns stoppage, within five. He had an injured right in the Benitez fight, take a healthy Hearns and he'll stop Floyd, who hasn't proved his defensive capabilities against as good opposition as Benitez did IMO

Floyd doesn't have the power to keep Hearns off. Even if he does manage to prove his defence, Hearns will win a decision. Better jab.

Roger Mayweather himself admitted that the toughest test for Floyd at welterweight in recent years would have been Vernon Forrest. In terms of the physical tools Forrest brought to the table, it might be fair to call him a "poor man's Hearns".

Hearns wins this, inside the distance. Tommy had good boxing skills and could really work well behind the jab when he chose to box.

Mayweather is an awesome defensive tactician, but I think Tommy is able to control the range with his size and prevent Floyd from doing anything noteworthy on offense.

Boxing is all about style and nobody is unbeatable/ This is the worst possible style for Mayweather aith major edges to Hearns all round.

The jab, height, reach, power and the speed is comparable. If Floyd adjusted somehow and knicked it I wouldn't be completely shocked but logic tells me Hearns on points.

Similar to his win over Benitez.

Mayweather is a poor man's Benitez & as soon as Hearns chases Floyd into the ropes there's absolutly no escape! Hearns KO whenever he feels like it as Floyd is absolutly tailor-made for the Hitman:deal

To Big! To Fast! To Powerful! To Vicious!

Larry Holmes v Marvis Frazier all over again:bbb

Oh dear. I'd actually feel sorry for Floyd in this one. Hearns by KO within 6.

Believe or not...there was actually an article about that here. Like on the front page, not in a thread. Although I did make a thread about it. Full of *******olicious goodness.

Floyd would not fight Hearns. The reason he fought Mosley is because he figured he was old.
