Hearns would be the big, big favourite...and rightly so. Hearns by UD or SD.

It's easy for people to say Mayweather would get KO'd within 6, or Hearns could knock him out whenever .But what you have to remember is, Mayweather is a spoiler...he takes your biggest advantages and threats and makes you insecure to use them.

I actually believe Sugar Ray Leonard would be Mayweather's hardest test stylistically if you look through the history of Welterweights. Leonard had near enough everything Mayweather had...but also had an incredible offense at hand aswell.

I don't think a lot of you realize that Floyd can really bang and that he has a bad attitude in that ring and like he said he was sparring with champions like Pernell Whitaker when he was still a teenager! I really don't think he would bang with Hearns all that much! He would have to take that right hand away from Hearns which he could do and he might night have the power to knock Hearns out but I don't care who you are, if you keep getting your ass tagged to the body and head and getting countered you are going to wear down! I say Floyd by decision!

impossible for floyd to win, he cant outbox him and he cant stop him.

I am just unsure about if hearns stops him or not. He certainly could but i think if floyd is on his best he will be very cautious of that right hand and avoid it.

Hearns outboxed SRL, he was ahead on points in the 14th when they stopped it. Judah's success gets overrated but what floyd did is brought the fight to him and backed him up after he lost a few rounds due to zab beating him to the punch with the jab. Hearns will do the same on the outside but Floyd wont win by trying to back hearns up who was accurate, fast and had devastating power.

Hearns is the perfect style to beat floyd. After that I would pick winky at 154.

:huh Hearns didnt have a problem with SRL's speed. People forget how fast his hands were, they were comparable to SRL in all but his flurries where srl would throw arm punches at top speed. but that combination of reach and speed that hearns had is a lot to overcome

You can say what you want about the Hearns and SRL bout! Who won? SRL, thats who! You can't compare the Zab fight to this match up bc Mayweather would fight Hearns different. We can go back and forth all day but there is no point because this is just a what if type of thing and I do respect your opinion! Everyone is talking about Hearns had this and that but no one is talking about what Floyd brings to the table!! I think he could out think Hearns and use what Hearns have against him.

    Hearns 185, 198 reach
    Ray 178, 185 reach
    Floyd 173, 183 reach

He should be in a lot of trouble regarding this. Hearns was a superb fighter.
Shoulder roll ain't working if your opponent has a 15cm reach and 12 cm height advantage.
So Floyd fights with a high guard and loses there. If a right hand catches Floyd, he's in a lot of trouble.

Given Floyd would be between the ages of 2yo-12yo in the 80s I tend to agree with this analysis :yep

Hearns biggest flaw was a glass chin, yes he was long and had a good jab but im pretty sure that as soon as leornard touched that chin, hearns ran and tried to become the boxer but was continuosly countered and eventually knocked out. Mayweather has the best timing in the game and a good long jab seems to be the best way to neutralize his offense but Hearns did slow down the second half of a few of his fights and that could mean Oscar all over again. Hearns good chance but intangibles also make a fighter hard to beat like movement, quick hands and quick feet with great upper body movement. Floyd UD
