Hearns wide UD or mid to late round TKO

Hearns is the worst possible matchup for Floyd Mayweather. Too tall, too skilled, and too fast. Floyd doesn't have the power to take full advantage of Hearns' most evident weakness. Tommy keeps him at the end of his jab all night and would simply be way too much. If he lands the right hand flush and follows up, he could stop Floyd.

Not many fighters beat Hearns at 147. I would only favor Robinson and Leonard. Other than that, I would give Griffith, Walker, and Napoles a decent chance, but would not favor them.

Hearns is the wrong fight for PBF (and just about everyone)

    I agree.

Hearns's speed, jab, power and accuracy would be to much for Floyd. Depending on how he approached this fight he could get KO'd if he chose to try to fight Tommy, or he could box and move and loose a pretty wide desicion.

I think that Tommy Hearns is a better welter weight than Sugar Ray Leonard. If their fight had been over 12 then all Ray would have left with would have been a pretty wide UD defeat. Give Hearns a chin and he may have been the greatest prize fighter that ever lived.

Agreed...if he had an iron chin, he would be even better which is downright scary. Hearns was truly special and a freak of nature...

    :good

Indeed. He is one of my favorite fighters to watch. As far as physical attributes go you would be hard pushed to fined a fighter to match him ever.

There is a reason God (or whomever) didn't see fit to give him an iron chin. Wouldn't have been fair.

Hearns was a monster, if he knew how to clinch and protect himself in the Leonard fight he would have held on to win imo. He thouroughly outboxed SRL in the first fight.
It also would have helped if he had a better chin but yeah, thats what made him exciting.

PS. Hearns was robbed against SRL in their 2nd fight. :nod
