Gomez throws a quick left hook, caught on the back of Alvarez's glove but setting up a chopping right hand for Gomez that just misses. Gomez walks him back and lands some body shots. They trade rights and both lands hard. Gomez works some rights to the body. Alvarez is backed up by jabs. Alvarez's offense is shut down. Gomez keeps pecking away. Body shots by Gomez. Sweeping shots by Gomez as Alvarez rolls his shoulders and tries to duck and slip. Alvarez is on the ropes getting banged on like a drum. Gomez is awkwardly leaning in and letting his hands go. Alvarez is picking his spots with very infrequent counters, mostly hooks to the body. Gomez is outworking him by a great margin. Hard, awkward pressure by Gomez keeps Alvarez on or near the ropes. Right hand by Gomez. Alvarez throws a hook upstairs, now one to the body. Meanwhile Gomez keeps pecking away at him with jabs and rights over the top. Uppercut by Alvarez, BIG right hand by Gomez!

Big right by Gomez!! Alvarez is knocked back into the ropes!! Gomez is landing flush shots!! Alvarez is flurrying while backing up, throwing power combos but not landing cleanly as Gomez ducks and leans inside with his elbows stuck out. Gomez throws a 1-2 to the chest and chin as Alvarez tries to hook him off. Gomez lands a flush jab and Alvarez lands a combo to the face. Nice hook by Alvarez. Gomez circles and pops his jab. Alvarez misses a jab and eats a counter right but turns his head to roll with it. Alvarez lands a left hook but eats a combo as Gomez leans in.

Gomez is taking some big swings coming forward, with Alvarez just backing out in time to avoid them. Gomez is crouching in and jabbing up. Alvarez is missing his own jab. Alvarez holds Gomez's head in place with his right and hooks up into his chin with his left. Gomez walks him down and lands a hard right hand whipping around from outside. Quadruple jab and an uppercut by Gomez chiseling his way in. Hard jab and hook by Alvarez backing up. Gomez steadies him with a jab and lands a big right hand. ALVAREZ NOW LANDS BIG POWER!!
