Way too quick but Canelo was getting the KO eventually.

good stoppage, but Alvarez look ok. He got hit a lot and a good pressure fighter would give him hell. He's nowhere near as good as Cotto based on this fight.

    Lampley lambastes the quick stoppage.

He is FURIOUS on behalf of Gomez.

Alvarez says he was motivated by the fans and expresses appreciation for them.

Mario Solis asks him why he lost so many rounds, it it was "part of the plan". :rofl

Alvarez says he thought he did his job well and dropped Gomez early, and that it always felt like "only a matter of time". He says it was obvious Gomez was well prepared and that he had to take his time.

Solis asks if Canelo thought it was an early stoppage. Alvarez says that is the referee's job, not his. He says he felt the fans liked the fight (including the ending).

Gomez is now interviewed. He says Alvarez is a good counter puncher. He says that he hits pretty hard, but he felt the fight was pretty even up until that point. He is asked if it was premature and says "you wouldn't be asking if it wasn't the truth". He says even if it went the distance, they probably would have given it to Canelo no matter what. He says "it is what it is" and doesn't seem too upset.

Come on the ref stopped it, and the ref was holding him up... he looked like he was going down...

Anyways, it was bound to happen as Gomez was tiring had a cut and was very bruised.

Lampley says it's been a very good undercard. I'd agree.

He says that Mayweather's return brings electricity back to boxing. He then segues into how electric Ortiz is with his style. :blabla

Fourteen pound functional weight advantage for Ortiz. OoOoOoOoOoOoOoh!!!

Floyd gon' school this crack'r. Steward was wrong. THIS is the least competitive bout on the PPV on paper. :deal
