116 - 112 is a close fight imo. the floyd rounds that were clear, were clear. however cotto was the fighter that had the only true dominant round in the fight.

Ortiz win was within the rules, and ortiz deserved it. But still was a win via sucker punch. Floyd feinted an touching floves then laid him out.

Ward deserved fighter of the year if your going with a boxer. and you won't find a respectable boxing writer that disagrees with that statement. So the fact you think floyd and are defending it says alot.

SOG was the only other one who had an argument.

Froch is a huge win. However, I'm not sure that Froch > Ortiz & Cotto. (since Ward's win over Abraham last May wasn't part of the eligible time period being too long before the start date...not that it would have tipped the scales much anyway, Abraham sucks...)

I had it 10 -2 for PBF and cannot see 8-4 but atleast you did not say it was close or a draw like the haters are starting to say around here . . .lol. JA would being bouncing of the walls if the award went to Manny. his win over two bigger fighters is better than any thing did Ward did . . . Cotto>>>>>Froch (I really do not get all the love this guy is getting lately) and Ortiz@WW >>>> AA @168 Plus Boxing>>>>>>>>> MMA so the only answer is PBF:happy

The Abraham win wasn't even under consideration for Ward, FWIW.

The ESPY's for 2012 were judged from: July 2011-June 2012.

I know I read that earlier but I wanted to debunk anyone who would think it was considered. Point is that PBF beat p4p stand out for years and number 1 guy at JMW and the number 2-3 guy at WW who had his best win ever. Both guys out weighted him by 15-20 pounds come fight night.

Like I said only haters are upset that PBF WON. People have to get over **** and be happy it was a boxer:happy

    Thats not what i meant.

Floyd won more clear rounds than cotto I agree with that.

Cotto only clearly won 2 rounds IMO.

But Cotto had the single most dominating round in the fight.

Shouldn't it be decided in the end of the year instead of now?

You must have had your eyes closed during the 12th round (and 3 or 4 others that I don't remember).

    Single most surprising round, perhaps.

Nobody expected him to win a round that clearly (or be so competitive in the fight, period...especially the stretches where he was able to be so effective with his jab). Not sure we can truthfully say he dominated Mayweather, though. That might be a bit of an overreaction to him doing what he wasn't supposed to have been able to do.

Cotto didn't dominant any better than Floyd dominated imo. Floyd won 1-5 pretty easily.
