Floyd Mayweather Jr. would've been just as dominant in Sugar Ray Robinson's era

Ok so in that era (Sugar Ray Robinson aside!) who do you think would have the abilities to out-think, out-box, and stop floyd adapting to their style (which lets face it, he inevitably will) Or on the other side of the coin, who do you think could apply enough effetcive pressure to break floyd down? I'm not saying no one in that era could do it, i am genuinely wondering who people think?

Floyd's dominance in that era would be hampered by the beating he would eventually take from Robinson, if they were ever to fight.

Let us all know when, and who Floyd fights next? Until then carry on with your "woulda, coulda dream fight threads"

Anyone can have a perverse fantasy just like you.

Floyd would have been dominant in any era. But undefeated? No. He could not have fought as many times as the other boxerrs with the brittle hands. And with the relatively low pay, he would have had to work a normal job in between his once a year fight schedule or vacation time. Maybe he could do this work back then: You can slam a chair on any wrestlers head in any era.

BOXING is a fighting sport... try FANTASY BOXING.

floyd never tested himself against the best in his own era, what makes you think he will fare well against SRR's era?

I think the person w/ the best chance at beating Floyd is Sergio Martinez and thats only because of his size and raw power and anyone above Jr middle

SRR wouldve done better against today's Middleweights because he is a taller dude and has more places to pack his weight effectivly

I do agree, Martinez does have the tools to beat Floyd, but for how many rounds? It's the same as the Pacquiao debate, both martinez and manny have the tools to do the job, the bigger question i think that hangs over either matchup, is how floyd would adapt to their offence (if at all).. But what i asked was who in SRR's welterweight era (SRR aside) do people think could also do this?

That may be true? But you shouldn't have the audacity to call yourself the greatest boxer of all time like Floyd does.
