I have spent most of yesterday and also today watching all of Floyds fights from his 1st pro fight all the way to his most recent fight and I took some notes on what I believe to be Floyds best attributes and I must say that he has definitely used his legs effectively in all of his fights to get him in and out of his opponents punching range. I also noticed that in his last bunch of fights his workrate had dropped and the combination punching has not been evident. He seems to be happy to pop one or 2 shots at a time in those fights. I did notice however that all of Floyds match ups have not yet shown me just how good he is because he has yet to fight anyone who physically could mix it up with him and to match his attributes. The only fighter I think who had Floyd a worried for a split second was Zab Judah because he was countering well with those left leads but he just did not have a solid gameplan and the mental stamina to keep Floyd thinking in there. Instead Floyd was not letting him think by applying constant pressure. Castillo 1, I believe that Floyd was pretty lucky to still have his zero intact but he was fighting with an injury during that fight and he thoroughly and easily beat Castillo 2nd time around. All in all I watched all of the other fights aswell and the only fights that really impressed me were his fights when he was at 130lbs along with the Judah performance and the corrales performance I love watching Floyd fight because he brings artistry to the sport and he really will be hard to defeat but after watching all of Floyds fights I would definitely say that Paul Williams or Sugar Shane Mosley would be his toughest opponents to date and I still do not understand the logic behind turning down at the time a career high payday for 8 million to supposedly fight a nobody. I mean we all know Floyd loves money so if this supposed nobody was going to be an easy fight then simple logic would tell me that he would take it. You know what they, styles make fights and I truly believe that Floyd saw Margarito like a bigger version of Castillo and did not want any part of him. Fanobys will not agree with this but if you cut to the chase it is quite clear to see he was not comfortable being at a disadvantage physically especially against somebody who could have broken ribs just like Castillo did. Manny Pacquiao would definitely be interesting to the fans who would like to see Mayweather deal with a Zab Judah x 2 but this time with some added extras thrown in. This fight could actually bring out the best in Floyd and I for one would like to see it but I doubt it will happen because I think Pacquiao will be derailed by another fighter before this gets signed. The person to beat Floyd right now is either Mosley or Williams. Pacquiao's chances are slim to none and slim is out of town.
This is what true boxing fans do, I dont know about you but I can definitely say that I dont go around making BULL**** ASS POSTS about fighters having glass jaws. I could probably bet money on it that if you was hit with a punch on your jaw from any boxer you would be out. I doubt you have the chin to take a full blown shot so I dont understand why you seem to think you can make posts about other fighters having a glass jaw. I would be more concerned with the ambulance response time for when you get knocked out cold. And just for the record I was in my garden watching the fights and the sun was out so I guess your comment did not have the desired effect.
Just because Zab and Manny are southpaws does not mean the Zab fight is an accurate indicator of how the fight will go. Zab and Manny are totally different stylisticly
Zab Judah x 2 means that this fight would indicate Floyd fighting another southpaw. I did not state that this fight would be a complete re-run of the fight and I also said that the fight would probably bring out the best in Floyd. Read properly kidd
he turned down 8million..in a gamble(which payed off)..for a bigger fight...netting.. 20+ million.....
I actually was just expanding on what you said as I agree with you. Many fans bring up that fight as Zab and Manny are southpaws while ignoring there vast stylistic differences.
Definitely, their styles are very different because I think Manny definitely penetrates his opponents better and when I say this I mean he finds the target better than Judah, as Judah is inconsistent. Pacquiao's chances of beating Floyd as I said are slim because I have yet to see anyone apart from Corley, hit him and hurt him. It is so hard to hit him flush with 2 hard shots in succession and I just cannot see Pacquiao outboxing him either
Don't worry man. I have the same Vitamin-D defficiency :good Also, I don't think I have a glass jaw. I've been stunned in the ring but never down :good. If I'm hit I get spots on my vision and if I'm hit hard the colour drains from my vision so I limit my boxing now! :bbb
Margarito is not a bigger version of Castillo and after watching Mosley/Margarito and seeing how Margarito is a sucker for right hand counters do you really think he would beat Floyd or give him a close fight?
Good points I dont think Margarito would of won the fight but I do however believe that Floyd would have received some good bodyshots and the reason why Mayweather vs Margarito would not have been the same fight as Mosley vs Margarito is because Mosley came out killer from the very 1st round to the 9th round closing the show. Mayweather would have been on his bike from start to finish like he was against Baldomir. Margarito is a big man and I doubt at that time when Margo was that dangerous that Floyd would of been looking to stand and trade with him like Mosley did. Floyd would of played it safe until he had Margarito backing up and back then I cant see how Margo would of been backed up. Also, watching the fight with Mosley again, Margarito looked slower than normal and even in the warm up area he looked really slow. I dont know if you noticed it but that was not the same Margarito pre-Cotto. I think Cotto did definitely soften him up for Mosley but that is not taking nothing away from Mosley I am just calling it how I see it.
Great post Solid:good I have watched all Mayweather fights before and hes such a pure boxer its crazy. When he did move up to 147 his workrate went down because everybody is bigger then him. Mayweather is such a small WW, he plays way more defense. thats why when he fights JMM I think he'll KO, and thats not because hes so called so much bigger then him, its because JMM is more his size. Mayweather will feel so good at 144 that he might just fight Pacquiao at 140 and Pac doesnt want that, he will be in serious trouble. I'm just happy hes back. great stuff Solid:happy
