thats what i mean, Margarito is no tune up, so they should fight. If he fights Pac at December, its too long, even if he spars, what sparring opponent is the quality of Pac?
pac has had 3 fights in 2008 whilst Floyd had none, so Floyd should fight ASAP.

floyd wont take a tune up im telling you... it takes away from the actual buzz of seeing floyd come out of "retirement"...

its just more buzz worthy if he comes str8 out and fights

you have a bad grasp of the english language

the word never the way i used it can only be used in the present & future...

    present & future tense

floyd mayweather will never fight a tune up

    vs

floyd mayweather never has fought a tune up

I think Floyd is constantly keeping himself ticking over in the gym so I dont even think he would need a tune up, from what I hear he doesn't trash his body like other boxers might do when they are not training for a major fight.

Doesn't matter, Roy Jones jr was constantly ripped and in good condition, bottom line, FLoyd needs to take another big fight this year, forget about Pac, only when he beats Hatton, they can talk.

i dont know him personally or anything but if i had to bet... id put money that he is in the gym anywhere from 2-3 days a week... EVERYONE knew he was coming back no matter how much you wanted to accept it or deny it... so did he... the only way he could make sure that he could take this much time off and still be successful is got to the gym occasionally...

**** the average successful business man wakes up and either runs or bikes every mourning so i cant see why floyd wouldnt do the same thing on a smaller scale in comparison to his fights

Definetly, Im a gym rat myself, not weights though. Just boxing and even when Im supposed to be having chill out time, I wouldn't feel the same if I didn't keep up my workrate in the gym.

I dont know Floyd personally but he reminds me of Hopkins in the respect that he doesn't come across as one of those guys to let himself go.

I think that the exercises that I see Floyd doing in the gym are always stamina based but I think it may boil down to quality sparring because I dont think Floyd would be ready to fight tomorrow but if he was to fight and prepare properly come fight time he would be good to go.

that doesn't mean he won't be primed come fight night.

if you're preparing for a fight yourself it's a completely different mindset than if you're your just sparring with someone who is.

when you're training for a fight you live in a different world and you're a 'machine'. and once you're in your groove you test yourself and test yourself, and the furtehr you push and break down barriers the bigger your confidence becomes.

believe me. training for a fight is intense and it helps you 'explore yourself' and your limitations. that's a world away from being a sparring partner.

regardless of who the paul spadafora sparring sessions were for... they obviously couldnt have been that bad.. i mean he never lost officially so...i have no doubt about the fact that floyd will be in tip top condition when it comes time to fight... i mean thats part of who he is.. if he didnt he would have lost a couple fights already...
