Floyd Mayweather losing now would be similar to Hopkins losing.

It ain't gonna affect their legacies one damn bit.

May has been slowing down significantly, it's actually disgusting seeing how much he's slowed down since 2009.

Him losing now is going to be worth absolutely nothing.

If you think Floyd losing has any negative effects on his legacy, then the same goes for Hopkins. Same goes for SRL when he lost to Camacho, Ali when he lost to Burbock.

Floyd will be a 38 year old man when he fights again, he's at an age where many have already retired.

I hope he retires now. He has nothing more ever to prove. Nothing more.

Ok then he can fight Pac, since he's got nothing to lose, right?

He has nothing more ever to prove. He's a top 15-20 ATG.

Him losing would affect his legacy, but he will be remembered for his prime years in the sport. Top 15-20 is about right.

Depends who he lost to and how he lost. I don't think he'd carry on boxing if he were to lose though.

This is true of both May and Pac... it's why we'll never release our collective blue-balls waiting for that superfight that should have happened in late 2009. The handjob of a grandpa war now just won't cut it.

I think in his prime he lost to Castillo, but Castillo was a great fighter too in his heyday. Floyd past his prime, but he's not as vulnerable as Hopkins is. Hopkins has a good enough excuse if he loses, he's 50 ffs!

rightly or wrongly if Mayweather losses one of his next 2/3 fights his legacy will be torn down, any and everybody is already looking for a reason why Mayweather isn't what he says he is or what fans think he is a loss in any capacity is going to do nothing but make people point and say he was cherry picking his whole career and lost to the first good fighter he's fought.

Yeah because Floyd is frickin' 50 and fights the most dangerous prime fighter in his division too
