    Aging like fine wine.
Floyd really was The Best of That Era.

Unlike you, I have no emotion invested in it.

You know damn well that he wasn’t in his prime though.

He’d fought no real top level guys.

He’d only fought a washed Shane, and a C level guy in Trout, who he barely beat.

    He barely beat Lara afterwards.

He was nowhere near his best.

He was inexperienced against top level fighters, as most of his wins had been against low level opposition that we’d never heard of. They were just domestic level opponents on the way up.

You can’t use his number of fights to determine that he was in his prime.

You only kid yourself to try and hype the win.

You even ignore the fact that it was an enforced C-W on a fellow champion, which was absolutely outrageous.

    Why am I surprised though?

You once told me that Floyd would have beaten Bernard Hopkins.

Please unearth the post about Floyd and Bernard. I know Floyd is better but they could never have fought due to weight. You clearly have a lot of emotion invested in this issue. Trout is now C level is he and you really believe you know boxing? Sorry son wake up and smell the roses.

You told me a few years ago that you’d have backed Floyd to have beaten the version of Hopkins who beat Oscar in 2004.

    I have no emotion.

You know that Canelo wasn’t at his peak.

You only claim this to hype the win.

If you did a poll, hardly anybody would agree.

It was still a great win, especially for his age. But tell the truth.

What’s Trout ever done, apart from beaten a faded Cotto?

Trout has never been an elite level fighter. Apart from beating Cotto, he’s lost every time he’s stepped up a level.

I had Canelo winning maybe 2-3 rounds max…and even they were arguable. He was taken to school that evening for sure. His face at times showed that too in the latter part of the fight. Puzzled and out of ideas.

It truly was a superb performance by Floyd.

Canelo wasn't "green" so to speak however he wasn't the beast that he would go on to be.

Likewise, Floyd wasn't this "over the hill" past it fighter either, it was one of his career best performances. He was as sharp as I've ever seen him that night.

The CJ Ross scorecard was a disgrace and despite the loss, I think it was an extremely beneficial and learning moment in Canelo's career that helped him go on to become the fighter he has become.

To be fair I dont know how prime Mosley or prime DLH fights go.

Mosley had Floyd on ***** street twice in 1 round and he was 37 or 38 when that fight happened. Younger, fresher Mosley probably finishes it.

DLH fought to a near draw and I wonder how younger, fresher, hungrier DLH does w Floyd Sr as trainer. DLH was just all around sharper when he was younger and that would've been trouble for Floyd.

So, yes, Floyd was the best of an era but as is often stated he had zero prime elite wins. Not entirely his own doing but he had a part in it. Still an ATG without question

How could Floyd possibly be at his best or anywhere close at age 36. It’s a physical and athletic impossibility.

It’s just weak analysis by people who want to hate Floyd.

I really struggle to find the 3 rounds to award Canelo. Throwing and missing does not win rounds.
