He was at 126 when he fought MAB and also JMM wasn't an ATG when he first fought him at 126 and it was supposed to be a demolition job going in. He moved up from 126 to 130 to fight EM and lost. He was also a huge guy at those lower weights.

It was it made him a more complete fighter.

Everybody knew that Marquez had the goods to get a really tremendous fighter. And possibly great. He showed that he actually was a great.

Going into the first JMM Pac fight the sky sports commentators had it as a 50 50 fight. Marquez had enormous respect.

I don't remember it being like that here. Pac got a lot of hype on HBO because he just destroyed MAB. He was the favorite here in the US over JMM. In fact I cheered for Pac in his fights against MAB and JMM and EM back then.

Top quality trolling. I still give the Mayweather win over Pac plenty of credit. Manny had good performances afterwards and looked dominant in the fight before KTFO6 - in fact I wonder why more Vitali fans don't have him winning the event considering JMM never rematched him - but it def took something out of him. Losses like that always do.

You're right he was at 126 when he fought MAB and JMM. He had to climb 5 weight classes to find a fellow ATG. Ricardo Lopez was the only other ATG sub 126, but he was at 105.

That's cool and all. But those in the know knew about Marquez. And his strength, defense and power. Sky had it 50-50 and they were right.

What a laughable joke of a post. Becoming more of a pure boxer does not make you more of a complete fighter especially when your pure boxing ability was high anyway whilst fused with your unconventional style that you were able to utilise before being past-it, especially when a lot of other elements to your fighting has become mostly eroded.

I'm not trolling I'm being honest. If Pac had fought PBF back when he was fighting Cotto Hatton or JMM back then he would have been taken apart and schooled and possibly KOed. What people fail to realize is that he would have been fighting a more closer to prime PBF back then who was a far better counter puncher and far more accurate than the version he faced in 2015. Pac the way he came in wide open and off balanced lunging in was a recipe for disaster against that version of PBF. He would have been destroyed. This so called unbeatable Pac was having problems with JMM because of JMM's educated footwork and countering ability PBF would have had a field day against him especially with his huge reach advantage ability to dictate range and control the distance against that reckless style.

The older Pac learned from his mistakes and became more cautious more defensively responsible countered better and has a much higher ring IQ. The younger version of Pac might have been better suited to deal with guys who are there to be hit but don't confuse that with him doing the same against master boxers like PBF and JMM because he wasn't. The older version of Pac would always give PBF more problems than the younger version and I stand by that.

"Pac would come in wide open". LMFAO. Nah, Pacquiao had tremendous head movement. He didnt walk right into people whose power he respected.

The older version Pac would be better able to handle boxers. Ok, then how did young Pacquiao beat Marquez and Ledwaba?

See I see it completely differently. I think any version of Mayweather beats his age correspondent version of Pac but that his strengths lay in being an unconventional dynamo. Don't forget that he very nearly overwhelmed JMM with that style first time out.

The older, more cautious Pac is a lesser fighter imo just like older Mayweather is. That doesn't change the result but it sure as hell made for a more boring fight. Pac throwing caution to the wind and making Mayweather work for ever second whilst eating crisp counters would have been a far better spectacle than the glorified sparring session we ended up with.

The idea that young Pacquiao ever "walked" anywhere in the ring is absurd. Go actually watch classic Pac fights. I wouldn't describe his movements as walking.

He came in wide open and off balanced with his feet in the air where have you been? He did it all the time and against PBF he would have to do it more often because of the extreme reach disadvantage he has.

That's not how Manny Steward would describe Pacquiaos aggression.
