I said "forget" the persona. And oh, we saw grit lol... To utter that his career was underwhelming tells me that there is a little bitterness towards his dominance. Floyd's record, resume or whatever you think needs boltering-does not need bolstering. Apologists shmalogists lol... I think that Ali's comp was more formidable, but where Ali struggled with ordinary guys, Floyd didn't. Ali best ever, Floyd ONE of the best ever.

So he still earned it by fighting the fights to be crowned P4P king

Floyd came back and Pac was considered still to be p4p king until he "lost" to bradley

Pac was knocked out 3 times while Floyd was on vacation. Pac was also outboxed while Floyd was on vacation, put down y a jab and put down multiple times while Floyd was on vacation...and even knocked unconscious while Floyd-was on vacation.

Each fight when Floyd was having a difficult time, he solved his guy. It's like wow, Floyd starts to invent ways to attack his opponent right before your eyes. Fans who were rooting againt Floyd start to marvel at his genius.

To be able to think while under tremendous pressure is something in Floyd's game that is very underrated. He knows when to attack, rest, stand his ground, move, clinch, then go to your body, check hook, feint...all while borrowing time to rest.

I think you are not understanding that the 'persona' is/was part of the marketing; ergo, part of building him up as something greater than himself - but never mind that - if you've been taken in (which you clearly have been) then you're not going to see that.

You imply there are ample examples of 'grit'. Could you please cite examples of Mayweather demonstrating this characteristic; perhaps something on a par with the Ali/Frazier III?

Bitterness? That accusation gives you away as a fanboy. Just on the eventual but 5 years+ too late bout with Pacquiao alone, one could use the term 'underwhelming', without that type of reproach from rational minds.

There are several other examples of what could be considered as factors contributing to overall disappointment, given the talent he possesses. There are also Boxers, other than Ali, who faced bigger challenges more consistently in their respective careers.

But, if you are unable to give an objective and balanced enough review to see and incorporate such aspects then be happy with your biased perspective.

One reason is because they 100% support their fighters in Europe, they go all out for them even if they suck. If Floyd was a fighter from Europe he'd be treated like a Boxing God. America hates is best Black athletes, they only get the respect and admiration after they retire or become injured like Ali.

Yeah he looked amazing last night picking apart Andre berto's wide stance or making adjustments against that incredible brawler in maidana ..Or how about just looking sensational in making mid fight adjustments against Juadah who had just lost to the ever so dangerous Carlos Baldimor .. Let's not forget the combinations he threw against Gatti who was slicker than Pernel, Whitaker..

On to Manny I mean lets talk about how incredible he looked after he flushed out his system ..I mean running pot shot and hugging against Manny I haven't seen a chess player this strategic since Bobby Fisher ..
How can we forget the brilliance he showed against the legadary Robert Gurrero I mean picking apart such a pugilist can only be rivaled with Duran beating Leaonard in their first encounter !

Let's talk about how he was such a genius against Canelo I mean beating such a great boxer who's 's wins included unbeaten Austin Trout and the legandary boxer Mathew the Majic Man Hatton ..With those credentials this was sure going to be a great match of skills why else would Floyd want to face such a great boxer ?

Yeah Floyd is a brilliant fighters His skill displayed against such monsters will live for an eternity

Oh yeah, they really hated Tyson and Holyfield😛 Ever consider that maybe the reason people don't like Floyd is not his skin color, but the fact that he is undeniably a horrible person?
