Mayweather would have his hands full in this one he was already a touch past prime. SRL could be outboxed, and id have a hard time betting on Mayweather being knocked out. With that being said, I think this fight could go either way but I'll go with SRL late round TKO

Sugar Ray Leonard by decision most likely. If Mayweather tried to press the fight and take chances he could get stopped. Ray was a very good finisher and a better puncher at Welterweight than give credit for.

Why the Mayweather in the Ortiz fight? Why not the one in the Judah or Hatton fights?

SRL beat defensive wizard Benetiz. Same with Mayweather. Just not enough offensive output from Floyd to beat SRL.

Mayweather was off for like a year and a half going into that fight and fought flat footed, so Leonard should have an edge.

But I'll repeat what always say, which is that Mayweather had better defense, counters and foot placement than Leonard which would make them closely matched.

Yes I agree, but Leonard is still quicker and I think the better athlete. SRL was a physical marvel and always has that trump card even when technically out positioned he just somehow makes it happen. Mayweather has never faced that plus the punching power. Floyd would be on the defensive quite a lot. Hard to win a decision with SRL throwing lots of combos even if many are blocked.
