floyd was barely able to overcome the worst version of oscar de la hoya which is an absolute shame... in that fight he was completely exposed as the fraud that always was a guy who hides behind his undefeated record psrs to say he is the best... which speaks more of his ability to choose rivals than of his own talent as a boxer... there are several boxers above floyd starting with sugar ray leonrad, robinson and ali... even duran is more oscar himself was a better boxer than floyd ...even roy jones jr was better...this guy is a fraud
I forgot that he was not undefeated because Castillo beat him

Yes but more to his tbe bs claims which is throwing **** to the wall and hoping it sticks.
Floyds carefull selecting and 0 marketing works against him in my opinion. I would think much higher of him had he taken more risks and had a few losses.
Thats why I rate Pac as the greater fighter eventhough Floyd is more skilled.

On the other hand he is still an ATG that made the most money possible, a legend and still talked about daily.
I would rather be him than Hearns for example.

Tommy is a legend with a fanpleasing style that took risks and got ko'd a few times.
Yet he is broke and talked about less and rated lower than more carefull counterparts like say Floyd or even the original deck stacker SRL.
Despite doing as much or more in the divisions, beating Duran clearer, having a more iconic fight with Hagler and being 1-1 with srl himself.

Shows how people remember losses more damaging than they should.
Look at how Canelo is mocked for losing despite stepping up.
He could Floyd it up and take the easier carefull route and boxing fans would rate him higher and he would be richer.
So in a way Floyd was right all along.

That wasn't the worst version of De La Hoya though was it? That was still to come.

Floyd was a class above everyone else and bar the first Castillo fight which was far to close to be called a robbery legitimately won every other fight of his career. Usually by shut out.

He is overrated because of his moves outside of the boxing ring. always choose easir route to fight someone.

He was never a warrior, but he was great technical boxer.

The only fight he arguably should've lost was against Castillo not De La Hoya

Castillo beat floyd comfortably it was an absolute steal that's why he's not undefeated... and that was oscar's worst evertion he was one fight away from retiring what's more all the fighters I fought were at their worst like mosley pacman floyd that it is the reality of floyd a cherry picker boxer at the highest level

Floyd isn't a fraud. He did card stack. cherry pick and used IV's and possibly other gear to get an advantage.
Having said that his resume is stacked and apart from a couple of fights was largely dominant.
So not a fraud but nowhere near TBE status him and his nuthuggers proclaim.

He obviously was a great fighter. He resume is strong.

Just like any over star his delusional fans gripe everyone. He was brilliant but nowhere near GOAT status like they’d have you believe because he printed it on a cap and wore it.

DLH was worse in the Pac fight by FAR. So was Mosley.

The Castillo fight was only a comfortable robbery in the eyes of a hater. It was razor close.

So he should have went to war with guys when he could just clearly outbox them? I never understood this logic.

Always stay safe is not the way of greatness. Just my opinion.

Always try to find right time to fight certain boxer when they are weak/in bad shape/old/coming from a lose or personal reasons - is not a good look.

He beat a lot of big names when they were falling off the deep end with drug and alcohol issues.

A lot gets made of his Corrales performance but no one ever mentions his personal life was in tatters due to domestic violence allegations.

It’s like a sprinter beating Usain Bolt when he’s over the hill and running 11 seconds. A fanboy would say you have beaten the great Usain Bolt, a cooler head would say you beat a guy running 11 seconds.
