In his post fight interview Bernard Hopkins insinuated that he would like to go out with a match with Floyd Mayweather. He didn't actually use Mayweather's name, but everyone knew who he was talking about.

In response, Mayweather simply replied that Hopkins is doing exactly what he should do.
"He's trying to secure the biggest money fight that he can, and that's exactly what he is supposed to do". Mayweather stated.
"He's supposed to call me out, he's supposed to. That is part of the game, to get a match that will earn the most amount of money possible."
"Right now my focus is on Maidana. I don't know what the future holds. Anythings possible, but right now all I'm thinking about is my upcoming fight with Maidana".

Following the DC Shumenov fight Hopkins detailed what he would like to do next after unifying with Stevenson and going into his 50th birthday.

    Who cares.
He made the comment sometime after his win against Shumenov.
In fact, he has now said the same thing several things since hyping this 50/50 fight in sync with Floyd's 50th fight and his 50th birthday.

    It's a win/win fight for BHOP.

The fight wouldn't tarnish his legacy. He is already an ATG and has set at least 6 world records, many which will be broken for the next 50 years. :yep

If BHOP loses, he goes into retirement with the fattest paycheck of his career.
If he wins, he still gets the biggest paycheck and another boast to his legacy as well as yet another world record.

    Win/Win :yep

i don't think floyd would fight him. i don't think hopkins could make 160 and i dont think floyd would even try getting to 160 if by some miracle they did fight and hopkins makes weight floyd would come in at 152 and hopkins would weigh 175 on fight night,
bernard is 6' 1" floyd is 5' 8". floyd would get hurt bad.

After BHOP knocked him out, he'd retire, start BHOP Promotion, name Schaefer as CEO and Floyd as VP West Coast Operations. Then the cycle continues.
    It's all good! :yep

A lil boy like Floyd Mayweather will not fight a real man like Bermard Hopkins.

Just in the press conference alone and face to face, B-Hop will intimidate and make Floyd nervous and B-hop's commanding voice will make Floyd stutter and mumble.
