Actually, after watching how Conor easily dropped Jose Aldo in 13 seconds, I think you are right.
It will be better than Ali-Frazier

Floyd makes great points arguing why Ali can't be considered the greatest. But if he lost to Frazier and Norton and has a thinner resume than so many other greats why is he even top 5? I agree that Duran, Chavez, and Whitaker should be considered greater than Ali, but so should Greb, Armstrong, Pep, Ray Leonard. I rank the 5 like this: Duran, Mayweather, Whitaker, Chavez, Ali. I think it's hard to choose between Floyd/Whitaker/Chavez/Ali, but Whitaker on his win deserves to be slightly ahead of JCC while Floyd on his greater longevity deserves slightly higher than Whitaker. Duran is clearly above Floyd and all four.

Floyd pretty clearly avoided comparison with SRR because there is no comparison, and the only way he can convince himself he's "TBE" is if he ignores Robinson (and Armstrong).

What do you mean no comparison? I think SRR is better, but TBE is not far behind

SRR had 200 fights and 173 wins. He beat dozens of fellow greats. And they were greats in the best era of boxing. In his prime he won 91 straight bouts. I think Floyd's clearly the best fighter since Ray Leonard, but the best older fighters set the bar so high that no fighter in boxing's recent state can come close to their greatness.

Fair enough! 91 straight bouts in his era is impressive indeed

Yes of course. At first I thought you were serious
then you wrote " Floyd v Connor would be a war for the ages."
Thats when I knew you were joking. He can barely outbox Nate. He has no business in the boxing ring with Conor. A fight in the UFC would be more interesting

I wasn't the one that said that, but I just had to make sure lol. You should hear people talk about Conor on MMA forums (outside of this website's subsection). They actually believe Conor could outbox Mayweather. They also thought that Ronda Rousey has great standup.

Yeah I have seen many threads like those, especially on Sherdog. The Conor worshipping is unreal

I am not exactly a PBF fan, but in a boxing ring, he'd smack Connor around so badly his mum would run to the ring and beg Fluid to put a stop to it. In an MMA cage, exactly the opposite. Fluid wouldn't have a chance.

Agreed. Floyd can only beat Conor in MMA if Conor is stupid enough not to try and take it to the ground

Floyd Mayweather, although a great champion and definitely the best of this era is still a product of the Crack wars the US government schemed to control it's US blacks, same as Belgium did to China in the Opium wars.

His father and mother were both swept up in these crack wars and it left Mayweather a bit ******ed as a man, similar to many of these post crack war, Hip-hop, crack war victims.
Therefore, while Mayweather may have physical skills far superior to his opponents, his mental state outside of the ring is like that of a 16 year old child.
You cannot hold Mayweather responsible for the many ignorant statements that come out of his mouth.
