The only thing accidental about Berto was his imitation of Mayweather. That was an accident waiting to happen.

he is basically saying that he is too old now to pull of this challenge. When he is 21 can fight bigger guys bc he got youth but when you are old plus peaked weight it is just not smart.

Floyd has expressed this that as he slows down he is not really looking to make a statement in the higher weights anymore. And thats understandable. When you are getting older and slower, why package everything you have done and lose it to a middleweight? For what? It is not like Martinez is paying him the type of money he hasn't seen before.

Martinez has offered to fight Void at 154, 150 and even said he would try to go way down to 147, which he used to fight at. Martinez used to have the 154 title. Martinez is a very small middleweight, he's really a welterweight. Void is afraid of him, Void is a coward as usual. Void still will not fight Pac, Pac is not a middleweight for sure! Void also refused to fight Alvarez or Trout, would not fight Paul Williams, or Margarito. Void will be fighting a featherweight instead. Void is void. I am tired of his crap. If Void is the best fighter on the planet, then he should fight Vladimir Klitschko or Vitali, they are the best fighters on the planet. Put Void into a ring with either Klitschko and they would squash him like an ant! Void will never fight anyone who has any chance of beating him. Remember, the best fighters are the Klitschkos, they beat everyone in every weight division, so don't say Void is the best, put Void into a ring with a Klitschko and watch him get seriously hurt. I am tired of hearing anyone claiming that Void can beat any fighter on the planet in any weight division. Void can't. Ask him if he will fight a Klitschko, of course not, he won't even fight Pac.............

Has anyone pointed out that Ortiz weighs that much, had no issue making 147, is only like an inch shorter than Martinez, etc?

Martinez could make 154 no problem. He fights at 160 bcause he happened to get the linear title on a trip up and found he could dominate the division, which he's done. But he could easily do 154. In my opinion, Trout beats Canelo and Martinez should definitely get him in the ring immediately at 154 to build a case for a Floyd fight.

Floyd definitely doesn't have to fight Martinez, but it isn't the size difference, it's that combined with how good Martinez is. I don't have a problem with Floyd fighting someone else, because to be fair Floyd could easily make 140, but it would be a tremendous win and lock him up for ATG status. But again, it'd be a really high risk fight without the financial reward of an easier fight with Khan, Alvarez, etc.

Still wish it would happen though.

Ortiz is in his physical prime, and two fights before that was fighting at 140

Martinez is an old man as far as boxing is concerned, I has my doubts he could make 154 healthily

Martinez can easily make 154, better weight for him than 160, he is not a natural middleweight..............
