Thanks for posting. Floyd Sr. said Freddie Roach was right about everything he said. That's props right there...
Actually, what he said was: "I would like to get 1 or 2 more fights with Hatton before we get into a fight with Pacman just so I could get a better feel for him, but if we had to fight him right now, we will do it and we will win."
it is clear as a Bell why Oscar couldnt do ****, and it has nothing to do with Nacho, nor the speed and Power of Manny Pacquaio I think most of us have been following the sport long enough to notice a shot fighter when we see one. Saturday night DLH just stood there no head movement no stiff jab nothing he just followed Manny around and took a beating, his body obviously couldnt do what it was able to do over the last 13 years, I mean lets be real its been about 13 years since he beat Chavez. Every great fighter has their day where they just fall apart before your eyes Oscars night was saturday against Manny Pacquiao, I cant really take anything from Manny he did what he was supposed to do but if you really think DLH is not shot from that performance something is wrong with you, I think its a mix of being shot and the extra weight he took off and he only ended up putting on two more pounds going into the fight, **** Pacquiao out weighed him on fight night. IMO DLH was not only having age issues in the fight but very well could have been dehydrated going in.
I think Sr would've made a big difference for Oscar in this fight. Another tactical mistake in a long line of tactical mistakes.
I dont think Sr would have made any difference, Roach also factored into Mannys game plan that DLH could not pull the trigger anymore, Roach said so himself going into the fight that Oscar cant fire at will, so Obviously Roach himself knows DLH is shot.
Sugar Ray Leonard owned Floyd Sr. thats probably why hes talking so much gibberish..And no he doesnt own no one . His ****in son disowns him
There is no shame in taking a beating from Ray Leonard, arguably the second greatest Welterweight to have ever laced them up. Floyd Sr. gets much respect for being a talented trainer, and he doesn't just tell us how good he is, he gets results with the fighters he trains. I think he's awesome! I've seen more entertainment in his interviews than in any of his sons fight.
And I disagree. DLH is a robot. He doesn't think or make adjustments on the fly in ring real well. He does what his corner tells him (DLH-Trinidad anyone?). Well maybe not always, but of all the trainers he's had, no one puts him in his place and demands his attention like Sr. And no one got more out of him. There is no way that Sr would have made Oscar train at the weight for over a month in advance and had him come in so light and weak. And no way that DLH's defense and gameplan would've been so non-existant. He's says what he would've done different in the article. You should read it. It may not have necessarily won him the fight, but it definitely would've been more competitive.
Fair enough..the guy can train and is funny as hell.. Nachos been getting lambasted lately though..poor guy
It's strange that Nacho sent De La Hoya out if the issues with age and weight were apparent in training, but he isn't accountable for what happened. You're implying that Nacho knew that Oscar was shot or dead at the weight during training. If this is true, Nacho should have never allowed Oscar to get in the ring that night.
Even as a robot the man has more skill than that, I dont blame it soley on the weight issue, its a combonation of the weight and his age, the man is clearly shot, Roach has been saying so since the Mayweather fight, which is exactly why he wanted the fight. The same way he wanted the Morales fight, teh first time they fought Erik, Bottom line is in big fights for Manny Pacquiao Roach picks them when they are shot, Barrera, Morales and DLH, Marquez is the only seasoned fighter in his prime that Manny fought and look at what it took to get one win over Marquez. Beleive me Roach is a smart business man he knows what he is doing (Sometimes)
"Man, let me tell you something man, they can say what they want to say about Nacho, but I don't see none of it. Emanuel Steward was talking that **** about he train his fighters like Nacho train his and that's why his fighters are getting their ass kicked too." Floyd Sr is ****ing hilarious. He will be missed when he leaves boxing.
