To all these people who are on this fighter ducked this fighter frenzy here is some news. Just posted on the hype if you want proof.

Floyd Sr. " Man, Shane ducked us twice at the lower weights, I don't understand why people say lil floyd ducked when that **** ain't true. We offered him the fight when floyd was at jr lightweight and lightweight and he turned us down both times....its the truth.

I think he's referring to when they were at 130 and Mosley was just one weight class up.

Even if that is true, how can he accuse Shane of ducking Floyd?

Shane never, ever made 130, not even the first few fights of his career. He never fought below 135.

And by the time Floyd stepped up to 135, Shane was already a welterweight, and had been for near enough 3 years. Shane stepped up to 147 only about 10 months after Mayweather won his first title.

Floyd was willing to move up to any class to face Shane or Oscar. He only said it after every fight back then.

SSM went after Hoya, he wasn't thinking about PBF, Just like PBF went after Hoya instead of Margo, money talks.

Forget about when he was at the lower weights. When he was at 140, Floyd said that he wanted to go up to 147 and fight Mosley. He said it during a post fight interview and Jones Jr. said Mosley would be stupid to take the fight; too much risk for not enough reward. These two entered negotiations to fight eachother in Nov. of 2006 and the fight broke down due to pusre split issues.

Shane didn't go to 147 until 1999. Floyd was a world champ who had defended his title several times and was a top 10 p4p fighter by that time(he was fighter of the year in 1998. Floyd Sr. is probably telling the truth here. If I had to guess, Shane's team probably turned it down because Floyd wasn't a big enough draw at the time.

Shane said that they would eventually meet but Mayweather had to build up his fan base first.
