you cant be the best ever in boxing if you haven't fought the best out there...

even if he fights pac right now, its 3-4 years too late...

floyd avoided a lot of fighters in their prime...he opted to be a businessman rather than be the best fighter that ever was....

No. I would put Floyd in the top 40-50.

The best? Sure. The greatest? Nope.

Floyd is on equal footing with any "ATG" in history. Floyd coulda solidified his greatness with more fights, sure. But let's not kid ourselves, he has a very good resume and really has met all challenges his critics have laid out before him, except fighting Manny.

H2H, I don't see any ATG having a great advantage over Floyd.

I don't know if he's the best ever. Hard to imagine that. However he is in the conversation. And that's all any ATG really is.

    Hell No!

But, it makes for a good T-shirt and cap title.

That's not totally outrageous. They were both very skilled, with Floyd being a little more technical.

However, Leonard was more talented, and the better/superior fighter.

And I'm sick of hearing about his IQ what good is that IQ when he doesn't face a guy who could test it ?

I doubt there is really anything he could have done really to become the best/greatest ever. Particularly with the low number of fights that elite fighters have, and it being a relatively weak era.

However, he could have gone a long ways in standing out from the others in this era had he fought Pacquiao back in 2010-11. It would have helped his all-time standing a lot and silenced a lot of critics.

But it didn't happen, there are numerous people to blame for it, and it is a pretty sad footnote in boxing history. It's not very often you have two ATGs fighting in/near their primes, at the same division, being the two biggest stars in the sport, that even has mainstream ppl who DKSAB asking all the time about it.

I voted the last one, but not because he didn't fight Pac. It should just say NO, not no with the Pac snippet.

I am not failing to give Floyd credit... But, I am saying that his amazing skill set would not be enough against, Hearns, Pryor,Duran and SRL. The fighters I am mentioning, had it in them to dig down when winning required MORE than just their fantastic skills. Plus, they sought out the best fighters so they could have bragging rights. I am not calling you a *****, and you make some solid points. I will say that PBF chooses his opponents, very carefully. And he is not one to put himself at risk. It hurts his legacy and standing amongst the other ATG,s...He was truly hurt by a used up Mosley. Do you really see a young Hearns,SRL,Pryor or Duran letting him off the hook ? Not trying to be an ass,but... You saying that Pep and Whitaker don,t hold a candle to PBF,is truly lacking knowledge... Take a look at the TRULY great fighters that Pep and Whitaker fought in their careers. Then look at PBF, weak ledger. Pep and Whitaker fought EVERYONE !!

That,s a great call on Taylor !! His hands were faster than PBF,s and he threw a lot more punches as well... And, the fighters you mention here would have wanted to eat up PBF... I don,t see him signing to fight any of them truthfully...
