How does Floyd adjust to something he's never seen before, a fighter his height and lenghth who's quicker, faster, and punches harder than he?
You cant say how Mayweather adjusts as he's never faced that.

Personally I see a Mayweather vs Khan matchup going pretty much how Pernell Whitaker's fight with Diobylis Hurtado went.
Hurtado dominated and embarrassed Sweet Pea by lateralling around him and being quicker and faster than he was.

It was Whitaker's power that saved him against Hurtado as he loaded up and hurt Hurtado with a big shot and then finished him.

Loading up and trying to time Khan with a big shot is how I would see Mayweather beating Khan, as I dont see where he's going to outbox the quicker, faster, younger and harder punching Amir Khan over 12 rounds.
Mayweather will be forced to be the hunter against Khan and that's something he doesn't want to get himself into.

A lot of you Mayweather fanatics dont realize he's not a spring chicken anymore, he would have trouble with a fighter his physical dimensions who is quicker, faster, younger and punches harder then he.
Every great eventually succumbs to that if and when they meet that fighter in the ring.

Khan can barely even throw a straight right hand without falling onto his opponent. His ring IQ is that of a re**** compared to Floyd's genius. The skill and ability level have to be close for the style advantage to really come into play. Mayweather and Khan are not close in caliber. Floyd is eons better, even pushing 40. Hell, with Mayweather being so technically sound and disciplined in training, and Khan relying so much on speed, being so technically flawed, and having been in some pretty grueling fights, I don't even know what kind of youth advantage Khan will really have. Khan is actually the type of fighter to age pretty quickly, he doesn't have the ring smarts, technical skills, or chin to fall back on.

Chris Algieri of all people decided to fight like a pressure fighter and almost beat Khan. Chris Algieri. Garcia took 8 minutes to time Khan and the fight was as good as done. Several other fighters have been able to time Khan and land with consistency. Floyd will likely time and figure out Khan even quicker. He won't knock Khan silly with a left hook, instead he'll just start landing with consistency, forcing Khan to re-adjust. And once that happens, the fight will be as good as over. He lacks the ring smarts, versatility, and resourcefulness.

I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if Floyd takes this fight, since it's an easy fight for him, and one that he can fool some people into thinking Khan has a decent chance because he's fast. And people tend to think that speed means skills.

Mayweather is pushing 40, and has been declining slowly but surely. But it won't matter in this case, you know why? Because it is Amir ****ing Khan.

The Khan fight is a money fight for Floyd, a fight that would do well beyond the fight numbers he generated for Andre Berto.
Floyd Mayweather certainly knew there was more money to be made fighting Khan, but instead he chose to fight Berto who had lost 3 of 6 fights heading into the Mayweather fight.

If Mayweather viewed Khan to be easy prey, he'd absolutely would have chosen that along with more money than a Berto fight would generate.
The risk/reward ration wasn't to Mayweather's liking. Though Khan brings more money to the table compared to Berto, he doesn't have the following of say Canelo Alvarez who Mayweather was forced to fight by Showtime.

    Does he?

Didn't showtime pass on Khan v Algeri?

What has Khan done to suggest he brings so much more money to the table than berto?

Does Khan sell out arenas? His never fought on PPV in the states either.

Khan can't outbox Floyd. There's more to boxing than being fast.

Garcia and Algieri were able to time Khan. Floyd shouldn't have much trouble timing him.

I think this whole situation is hilarious. I genuinely feel bad for Khan, now he's stating if he can beat Garcia in a dominant manner that it may force FLoyd to come out of retirement and fight him.

This guy has gone through every stage of the grievance process. He's more deluded now than he's ever been.

I don't know why people think Khan will have such great success against a fast fighter who'll be fighting in perpetual motion, will be hard to hit given his defensive stance and ability, and is arguably the best counterpuncher of his generation.

You don't need to throw a power punch to stun Khan. A well placed counterpunch that nails him flush will be more than enough to stun him. I have no doubt Floyd would begin timing his countershots from the opening bell and have the perfect distance/range to fight with Amir by the 3rd or 4th round. At that point, he should be on cruise control.

Khan also fights in a very stupid manner once you stun him. While it's entertaining to see, he has a tendency to stay in the pocket and exchange for lengthy periods of time once he's hurt and he usually avoids holding guys to help while he's recovering.

Floyd might not be the strongest guy at 147, but I saw a 6/7 year past his prime Julio Diaz hurting Khan multiple times as well as Algieri.

The argument is FLoyd hasn't fought someone as fast and rangy as Khan in a very long time. The flipside to that argument is Khan has never faced someone as fast as FLoyd (maybe Judah,) as elite defensively or anyone remotely close to his counterpunching ability and overall ring IQ. His fans think Khan will be taking on some stationary target that'll be in the pocket long enough to get hit multiple times.

Khan is obsessed with Mayweather, he can't focus on anyone else and that has costing him his career.
