Manny is not a cheat, what has helped in gain strength is in his weight gain has to do with the unorthodox physical training and diet regiment.

Some of the stuff they do in conditioning, are not traditionally utlitzed in boxing.....that is why there has been a drastic change in performance....
Also Manny's walk around weight is pretty close to what he fights in, where alot of boxers make drastic weight loss changes to make weight for fights.
He dosen't have to do this as a result he is fighting undrained, un weightloss in primo condition where alot of boxers (not just opponents but in other divisions and fights) balloon when not training then come down. Fernando Vargas lost like 50 pounds to make weight before his last fight....Ricky Hatton, had to melt some serious weight.......

If boxers were more consistent and trained/fought/maintained at their natural weight......There would be more guys out there looking like Manny........Because they are not melting to make weight, then hydrating the night before.......If you think about it, most of the boxers are not fighting at 100 percent capactiy fight night, given the melting away and rehydration they undergo to their bodies.
