Over 12 Ive generally sided with Mayweather...mainly because he poses a stylistic problem that has bothered Arguello throughout his career but seems to be a higher level operator and posess a better beard then most of the guys who troubled Alexis but ultimately failed.

Floyd opens up a clear lead and goes through some very tough late rounds to hold on to it and edge this fight out.

I would scream myself hoarse in cheering and exhorting Alexis on...hell, I don't know..I just can't bring myself to saying that Mayweather would beat him..Arguello was one of my boxing heroes..one of the good guys with a white hat all the way.

Snap. As a relative newcomer to this forum, I may as well go on record now before the prejudice reveals itself slowly and unintentionally: I CAN"T ****ING STAND FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. Just seeing his rodent mug makes me develop a facial tic that would make Herbert Lom proud.

At this weight only, I think Alexis can edge out a decision win.

Basically, Floyd was more offensive at super feather. Over 12 I say it's perfectly feasible he wins a decision, over 15 I say Alexis times his late and stops him.

That's not out of the question; he had mind-numbing power at all weights, but especially this one. Whilst it's true he struggled with 'pure' boxers, Floyd was more likely to come straight on at 130. He'd probably be dominating Arguello for most of the fight and drop him around the 6th. This is when he'd be stepping into range and Arguello's precision punching and timing would come into play. He also has a fantastic jab and height advantage, even over 12 I say there's a chance Arguello wins rounds and backs Floyd up.

I love Alexis but his Achilles Heel was speed and Floyd could decision him .... however, Alexis size and power to the body would make it very close over 15, anyone's guess ..

Alexis close decision in a 15 rounder, maybe Floyd same way 12.

I have changed my mind. Floyd would win a decision with the right gameplan.

As much as I love Alexis Arguello, and he was a great fighter, I think this is a very very bad style match-up for him. Speed kills. Floyd had an abundance of hand speed, footwork, and defense, and the somewhat plodding Arguello was not fast enough to catch him. Floyd by clear unanimous decision.
