Floyd Mayweather vs. Amir Khan speculation & discussion

Handspeed is a problem for Floyd at this stage of his career imo because he uses his legs less and Mayweather is always at his best against people who bring pressure.I think khan would do pretty well actually if he didn't get carried away and tried to potshot, but either get KO'd late or ultimately get outsmarted and outpointed.

Wouldn't matter.. Mayweather would pick him apart.. All that it would change is Khan would see 12 unless his corner threw in the towel. With his real chin, there is no way he can last with Mayweather, would be an early stoppage.

But Khan doesn't have an iron chin. He has a china one.

 

He would simply be a punching bag. He would still have that robotic movement, stamina issues, no ring IQ, no inside fighting, etc.

 

Amir's speed would be a bit annoying for floyd, but Amir's other skills aren't on Floyd's level.

 

Mayweather would still stop an iron chinned Khan, that is if Khan had a corner that cared about his health... He would be eating crisp, perfectly timed Mayweather shots all night... Certainly they wouldn't let him take it for 12 rounds.:-(

Right now, Khan gets stopped in less than 6, and this is no where near the best Mayweather we have seen.

Khan is a fast handed, talented fighter, no doubt... But Mayweather as much as I hate his personality, is one of the most talented fighters I have seen on film, and someone with no chin would really be hurt by Mayweather's surgical shots. PBF can fight inside, outside in the middle, whatever, he can do it, and is just as good as Ward and Hopkins at using his arms and slowing down a fight when he has to..

Floyd wouldn't knock him out with one though.. Khan would be doing the boogie, several times before the ref finally stopped the fight. It may look much like the Hatton finish.
