Ask yourself whats the easier option and you'll get your answer.

I'm hoping for Alvarez. Mayweather is already coming off an easy fight, another would be ridiculous though won't be shocking to me. Khan should be an opponent they will face probably next year in England. I think Golden Boy already made it clear that they want Khan to have one or two fights at welterweight before having him in a big fight. So if it's not Alvarez, it's not going to be Khan yet.

Khan will be matched against Alexander in Dec if he beats him for IBF belt you can expect a Mayweather v Khan fight be flogged off as legitimate unification fight.

Right now for September everyone else is booked up apart from Canelo so if he don't fight Canelo in Sept that is a clear duck.

LOL laughing at the story on the Fightnews where Khan says he thinks he's one fight away from a mayweather fight. Hahahah. Honestly if this guy can't get away from Diaz's left hook what do you think it going to happen to him when Floyd lands on him?

Definitely Khan. Just look at Floyd's reasoning for choosing Guerrero. Floyd only fights people he knows he can beat.

Floyd won't fight Canelo, he pretty much confirmed it in the post fight conference. Stop wasting your time talking about it.

I agree with the OP on all counts. The fight will without a doubt be more entertaining then Mayweather Guerrero. And really it is very difficult to win a decision against Khan, and your point about Peterson barely winning on two judges cards with the 2 points taken away from Khan is a good one. Khan had more total points from the judges in that fight (one judge had Khan winning by 5 points)

it would be a fun fight because Khan might be the one guy who could actually win the early rounds against Floyd. Laugh if you want, but Khan has determination. This can serve him well and he has the ability to land hard shots on Mayweather.

Also due to Khan's well documented issues, FMJ might take this guy a bit lightly. Khan has the ability to put together a complete fight, but it doesn't always happen. Also I believe Khan is struggling to make 140. He might be stronger at 147. I don't see Khan going all the way up to 154, but maybe he could challenge for Floyd's 147 pound title and Canelo could fight Floyd at 154.

Floyd doesn't have underrated power he is just not a one punch knockout type of fighter all of his tko wins are more accumulation really.

That being said even Khans chin might not stand up to that decent power, if julio diaz level power can trouble Khan then Floyds probably will too even though he doesn't have devastating power.

Khan is done though I think, he didn't exactly blow Diaz out of the water which he should be doing if he is to be considered in the mix with the likes of mayweather.

I posted this in the RBR when someone mentioned either Khan was at the fight or Mayweather was solid for a same year return.

    -----

Khan vs Mayweather makes the most sense this year from GBP's perspective. GBP sees Khan as a walking liability at this point due to the fact that he's been KTFO'd and has a leaky defense. His power isn't enough to keep guys off of him, etc. So from their POV why wait and have him possibly get sparked out by a Prescott of the world when you can instead make the most money possible by cashing him out against Mayweather in a high profile fight. Its a no lose scenario from GBP's POV, if Khan wins he's the next Prince Naseem. If he loses, well he lost to the best fighter in the world and that shouldn't leave him with any problems selling out seats in Bolton. From Showtime's PPV, its another good PPV that keeps the contract on schedule. From Mayweather's PPV, it helps with brand expansion into the UK. And the fans get to see a rare explosive Mayweather fight as he walks Khan down and KO's him in 3 rounds.

Khan could have an iron chin and Floyd would still school him
