I think the general opinion is that he deserves it MORE THAN KHAN.

Not many people are claiming he deserves it outright. We were asked to pick between Khan and Maidana. I say Maidana has done more than Khan in the last couple of years.

How can you rank him higher when he has 2 fights at welter, one where he got his azz handed to him and another where he eeked by Pualie??? :patsch

The stupidity on this board is legendary.

I can see a Unanimous win for Mayweather, he is just too smart for Maidana.. he is not going to stand there toe to toe.

Expect another easy win for Mayweather as always.

If Maidana gets Mayweather then Floyd will whoop him for 12 rounds straight then Maidana will retire with his payday...we won't even get to see him smash Broner again... as a Maidana fan I DO NOT want to see that...

Behave, my god, apart from PAC man, Floyd has faced nearly every champion around his weight class, moving up and down, even his last fight he fought the double belt holder of his division, picked up the belts in style. Floyd is the best fighter of my generation, and prob go down as one of the top 3 of all time fighters, boxing is all about hitting and not getting hit, guys a master of his trade, khan don't deserve a chance with him, the only fight out there for Floyd really is the pacman fight, but although I rate PAC highly, Floyd will beat him, check out Floyd's record then count, just the world champions he s beat alone, and made them look ordinary.

If we are talking at Welter, then Maidana is the only choice as Khan hasn't fought there. I think he has had tougher opposition. There is no shame in losing to Garcia. Khan looked really good before getting caught. I thought the Lamont loss was a joke ...2 point deductions for pushing?? Ridiculous.

I would have hoped that people understood that styles really do make fights. Khan is a good boxer and when not rocked, he can dominate with skill.

Maidana...I like him and will always be grateful he embarrased Broner but look at his fights against boxers...he has lost badly. He threw tons of leather at Kotelnik and never really hit him. A fighters style should factor in to the equation.

I think Mayweather will KO Maidana rushing in. It will be similar to the Ricky Hatton fight. His speed and footwork will not be anything like the poor version Broner showed. Maidana needs to do something I don't think he can do - he needs to surprise Mayweather!

People overhyped Broner, so the win seems bigger than it really was. I think most good welters beat Broner because #1. He's a bit undersized, #2. He doesn't know how to counter effectively and #3. Stationary footwork.

I don't think that win was that good. Maidana showed his limitations against Alexander and it will be even more visible against Floyd. The only decent spot in this whole situation is that Maidana will pressure Floyd, whereas Khan will try to outbox Floyd.

Maidana lost his first fight at welter to Alexander, then stopped his next three opponets in an exciting fashion. He then beat the brakes off Adrian Broner. He has the best knockout percentage at welter and comes to fight and win, no matter who is in his face. He has boxing skills and a power punch. It would be an interesting fight because drama will always be there throughout. If Maidana can lay claim to beating Broner's ass and then his so called big brother, have you any idea of how much his next fight will bring in. Dump truck money. Chino knows this and that's how he's gonna fight. Khan, on the other hand is a straight ***** and once Mayweather starts getting in that ass, he will be full speed backwards all night just like in the Peterson fight. Maidana deserves it and is the best choice by far. Neither one wins, but I would rather see the intense efforts of Maidana than that bull**** that Khan will bring to the table.
