C+ plodder? You're not giving Maidana enough credit. He did better work than Oscar and Cotto did against Floyd. Maidana obviously isn't the best welterweight, but it doesn't matter when his style gives Floyd all kinds of problems. Plus, Floyd has slowed down a lot making it easier for Maidana.

Khan would make a decent sparring partner for PBF. Nothing more.

Khan is never going to attempt to avenge his KO defeats. He knows it will happen again.

Epitome of paper title,Broner and Malignaggi before that :rofl

In a division where we have Mayweather,Pacquaio,Bradley,Marquez it's a travesty to say someone like Maidana is a champion.only crooked sanctioning bodies belief that ****.

bradley fought Pacquaio,Marquez,Pacquaio for WW title.meantime Malignaggi,Broner and Maidana were fighting for contender status.this **** it hilarious,we have now hot WW division and Maidana has not fought or win against top WW'S.even then hi is touted as a champion :patsch

Wasn't Maidana a more credible challenger as a welterweight than Rios or Algieri?

Judah was in his prime in the early to mid 2000s. Zab has often been up-and-down throughout his career so it is a little tough to gauge I guess, but he was most formidable in those years I thought, even though he had some uneven performances even then. His workrate & stamina have never been strengths but they were better back then at least. He was quicker with his hands, both with single shots and combos.

He looked pretty lousy against Mabuza up until he caught him with that beautiful counter.

He made a nice little comeback as I thought he was done as a world-class fighter after the 2006-08 period in which he lost 4 fights to Baldomir, Floyd, Cotto & Clottey. He was pretty busted up against Mayweather and took a beating, and then was even worse and all bloodied and beaten against Cotto. He looked like a shot fighter against Ernest Johnson on the Calzaghe-Jones undercard.

Yes,and i'm by the way Floyd fan.more than Pacquaio.Rios and Algieri are different subject.i have no need to defend those **** fights,Rios was maybe ok.because Pac was coming off a loss.still pretty **** matchmaking.

Okay, my mistake. I thought you were one of those posters that said Maidana won the first fight and now is critical because there was a second fight. I am also unhappy with the recent Pac and Mayweather fights and am voicing my displeasure by not buying their ppv's for the first time in years. Maybe if enough of us follow suit, the promoters will get the message and starting making fights that actually make sense.

lmfao, rios and madona are the same level, both come forward brawlers.

id say rios has a better stamina and chin. would be a 50/50 fight between the 2.

algieri is relatively new but his skills are real.

he is young, moves/boxes well and can take a punch. his power is suspet but he is moving up a bit, so who knows if that will help his punching power a little bit.

id favor algieri beating rios and madona, minus the knockdowns.

if your point is algieri isnt known enough to be worthy of the fight, then i agree.

    but skillwise, he earned it.

My point was that Maidana had a welterweight belt when he fought Mayweather for the first time while Rios and Algieri hadn't even fought at welterweight before facing Pac, with Rios coming off a loss at junior welterweight, but naturally you wouldn't have seen that.

Honestly bro it just sounds like sour grapes that who you wanted to be at the top wasn't and who you don't like was. Marquez, Bradley, & Pacquiao couldn't fight Maidana or Guerrero even if they wanted to. but to compare Guerrero beat two Top 5 WW to get his shot, Bradley ducked Khan and fought a LW to get his. It's hard to jump to a 4th division and cherry pick a top contender you mention Alexander yet leave out when he had the IBF belt and was brought up EVERYBODY said Alex was a cherry pick to avoid Guerrero.

Maidana-Mayweather I wouldn't have happened if Khan responded to Maidana's challenge but he ducked out, I'm not even a Broner fan but he jumped up 2 division and fought/beat a veteran champ at WW that deserves credit, also how was Maidana exposed at JWW in his two losses at JWW every judge gave him 5/6 rds vs Khan and 5/6 rds vs Kotelnik that's not exposed. you mention easy route for Maidana then list Brook,Porter,Thurman when nobody knew who any of those guys were a year ago. Porter was looked at like a cherry pick stay busy fight for Alexander not some huge test at WW, Thurmans best wins are Aydin & Karass, Brook has just fought his 1st top 10 WW ever, at WW both Maidana & Guerrero have more wins vs top rated WW than those 3.

as for the Pacquaio thing yea I'll admit it's ridiculous and it's enough evidence on both sides to suggest there both ducking only thing I'll comment and say is since negotiations first happened 5 years ago only 2/5 of those years has Mayweather/Pacquaio been #1&2(2010",2011"), again why they didn't fight is irrelevant but If #1 & 2 can't fight what should you do move on to the next highest rated fighter which is what Mayweather has been doing.

let's be real everybody loses at some point the difference is Maidana went on a run after his loss and won another title earning a shot, Khan has ducked every top fighter that has called him out since his and is begging for a shot
