Floyd Mayweather vs. Amir Khan speculation & discussion

I teeter back and forth with Khan

On one hand his flaws are as clear as day: Sucker for the left hook one of Floyds best punches, cant fight 12 rounds without taking huge breaks and giving away rounds, cant fight inside something Floyd excels in, very predictable combinations

That said Khan has the traits to make it interesting. And thats the problem, Khan has what it takes to take an old Floyd to the wire but I doubt he is capable of putting everything together for 12 rounds

Lots of fans were awed by the Collazo performance. I was not. Khan held like crazy in that fight, something he would not get away with vs Floyd and had to take a break in the middle rounds despite Collazo never really applying much pressure

I wont bring chin into this, Mayweather isnt a banger like Prescott or Garcia and despite the name calling hard punchers like Maidana and a guy like Petersen whose not a huge puncher landed some hard enough shots that would have dropped him if his chins that bad

If Khan can find away to maximize his height his jab his speed and his foot work for 12 rounds he might make it close but I highly doubt he is able to do that unless Floyd shows up even worse than he did for Maidana 2

 

Khan isn't coming close to ****. All he has is speed, which is countered by Mayweather's speed. Take his speed away and he's a basic boxer with low IQ.

Yes we know, but how does that translate into Khan beating Floyd, who is pretty fast himself.

I think Floyd will have Khan moving backwards for most of the fight. Floyd's body shots are going sap Khan's speed and stamina by round 5. After that it's just Floyd walking Khan down and looking for the money shot to put him on the canvas.

Against Mayweather ? No prayer ! No chance ! Just not enough skill, stamina, ring generalship, consistent head movement or chin. And at the end of the day he's much to easy bfor mMoney to make adjustments to. Khan looks good in rounds 1-3. After that, dominant Mayweather performance....

 

Good breakdown the only other factor is how different he'll be , his running didn't look as good against collision or mobility but he was tidier with his footwork and more intelligent with his shots , this could come on again but doesn't mean he'll be any better

 

Terrible breakdown he demolished the fast guys he fought in zab and Paulie

 

Khan's abysmal glass jaw/**** defense/low iq beating Mayweather? Rofl.

Fact: Floyd would shatter that glass jaw in less than 3 rounds, bank on it.

 

Both Zab & Paulie were done. Zab is old and Paulie doesn't punch..
