Floyd is incredibly happy about Pac being a sore loser. He will get 2x massive paydays for what are in effect light sparring sessions.

Pac will get what 20-30% in the rematch? If that.

I wouldn't make it seem like a certainty that Pacman and Mayweather will fight in a year from now. That's a long time away, and many things can potentially happen. Maybe Manny focuses on his career in politics and calls it a career. Maybe Mayweather has a tough fight in September and than rematches the guy or retires.

Truthfully, the fight he should be going for is against Cotto for late September for the lineal MW title. To me, that's a much better fight than Pacman vs Mayweather. A win in a rematch against Manny doesn't hold as much merit legacy wise (and maybe even monetarily now,) than a Cotto fight does.

It would be even more incredible if the fight took place in Madison Square Garden. Floyd has never fought in New York, and it would be another feather in his cap to fight in such a historical place.

Great post! I essentially agree with all of it, although I don't think Floyd fighting in NYC is very likely (but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see it happen).

I totally agree and it makes sense from a fan, legacy view but that's not how Floyd is viewing his career right now so you have to look at it from his perspective...and his perspective is lowest risk, highest reward. Cotto is high risk, lower reward. Khan is average risk, low reward.

You can go through. And for Mayweather, he's trying to find the opponent who will get him to 50-0 the EASIEST while still being the highest reward financially, and make no mistake...5 million buys- it's still Pacquiao.

Floyd probably sees him as an extremely low risk which is great because it's also his highest reward. The rematch is inevitable. It's everything Floyd likes and loves.
Calls all the shots, so Las Vegas, USADA, higher split since Manny lost to him. It's the perfect scenario.

    Facts:

    1. There will be a rematch in 2016 due to the huge $$$
    2. Floyd will pump it up by being the old Floyd
    3. Floyd will yell in Manny's face at the weigh in
    4. We will all look forward to it and watch it
    5. Floyd lets Manny win to create a best out of three scenario
    6. Floyd gets a rematch and makes another $200 million
    7. Floyd wins and retires 50-1

total profits from the 3 fights around $600 million for floyd

He is not even close that half of Michael Schumacher's earnings.

Floyd is taxed by the IRS, pays Al Haymon, Ellerbe, his dad, Roger, his entourage, and various cornermen.

Schumacher meanwhile just moved to Geneva and pays zero tax.

I'm actually surprised more boxers don't do that - i.e Mikkel Kessler moving to Monaco to ensure he didn't have to pay any crippling taxes.

Like Fantana said: Floyd vs. Pac was the eliminator for the Khan fight. They had to determine who could challenge Khan.

Khan is way too fast. That fight is all wrong for Floyd.

That's what I'm expecting will happen. Khan in September and Pacquiao II sometime early next year as Mayweather 50th fight and attempt to break Marciano's record. There's far too much money involved to pass on this. I'm expecting Pacquiao to have one fight late this year too and hopefully look impressive.

I still can't believe that simpletons are saying this. Mayweather already proved, in his very recent fight, that he can deal with speed even if it's coming from an awkward ATG quality opponent like Pacquiao. All Khan has is speed and is literally as basic/predictable as it gets. Mayweather could counter Khan with his eyes closed and still land, he's that predictable. Additionally, Khan has poor stamina and poor punch resistance. This will be a complete one-sided spanking.
