I personally am fine with a Khan v Mayweather fight. I think Khan is absolutely good enough to poise a challenge; however i accede that he hasnt earned it in any way. But then again, you dont need to earn a shot to fight Mayweather; you just need to bring some money to the table, and be convenient.

Which fighters have earned a shot at Mayweather?

Not many. Out of his last 5 opponents (Guerrero, Ortiz, Mosley, Marquez and Cotto), I would say Mosley earned his shot, even if he was probably the worst competitor of them all.

My point was that you dont need to earn a shot at Mayweather to fight him, because he's not interested in that. It's all about who's convenient, not overly threatening, and who brings some cash to the dash.

No, you tell me what fighters have currently have earned the right to face Mayweather. In other words, who would be acceptable future opponents in your view?

Floyd fights those who just had a high profile win. Its a wise move buisness wise.
Since Judah, every one of Floyds opponents had just won a big fight.
Khan vs. Alexander would be a big fight and the winner might actually get Floyd. Not that either guy deserves it.

If Khan beats Alexander, Surely he deserves a Floyd fight as he is the Number 1 contender, Floyd shouldn't be allowed to pick his opponents like John Cena as Cena has proven himself over a long time fighting the best regularly like Randy Orton and CM Punk

I always had hopes Khan had real pride and ambition for his career... oh well.

Khan has a huge following and the PPV numbers for that fight would be pretty big.

I don't know man. If you believe that Mosley earned his shot(I do too), I'm not sure how Ortiz didn't earn his. Victor had the WBC title( which he acquired in one of the best fights in years) and was also on a nice little unbeaten streak going into the Mayweather fight.

It's very obvious really. His team are clearly looking to get him a major payday before a random fighter comes and sparks his chances off the table for good. Especially with the move up in weight he won't be able to handle punches at all as Diaz, who was asked to move down to 142, already proved. Add to that that this fight will generate a lot of money, no matter what you say about not caring to watch it you will eventually tun in to see how Khan will jump like a kangaroo from one corner to another after taking a punch.
