Floyd Mayweather vs Arthur Abraham...

I can't get my head around Abraham not hurting Floyd badly.

 

He didn't hurt Jantuah badly.

 

Abraham stops him.

Jantuah is 5'11.'' He's a legitmate middleweight. He may have started at welter, but he grew into middle.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jantuah is bigger than Abraham.

Floyd is a former featherweight. Abraham is probably too big and too strong. Now, if Mayweather can move his legs enough, he might be able to get out the way enough to squeak out a decision.

But at middlweight?

Nah man, Mayweather won't have his legs at middlweight. He'll be like James Toney, but he's not a gangster like James Toney. He gets knocked the **** out.

I mean, you can break it down, but the reality is, you need your legs to beat Abraham if you're as small as Mayweather. ****, even Ward kept the fight in the center of the ring and used a great deal of movement and he's a bigger guy than Abraham.

I'd love to see something like that, it would be amazing to watch. I dunno though man, when Floyd's laying on the ropes I think Abraham would just have to hit him anywhere and he would be hurting Floyd.

Unless the difference in footspeed between someone weighing 152-156lbs on fight night and Abraham weighing 160+ would mean that Floyd could dance around him all night even now where his legs clearly aren't the same anymore.

Well AA is/was a bonafide puncher, but only against easy target fighters. I can see Floyd winning a decision like Duran did over Barkley, without the knockdowns of course. Floyd would get his lumps, but not seriously hurt. Mayweather SD Abraham

 

Abraham would win. Mayweather is stationary at 154, he would be even more so at 160. Mayweather has no power to dissuade Abraham from busting him up. If Floyd was able to move and keep Abraham off balance the entire fight, I might give him a shot. Abraham's weakness is that he is low volume and he waits too long on his opponents (he looks for perfect shots). Floyd could exploit that by pot shotting and moving or tying Abraham up after landing his shots (I don't know if Floyd would even be able to do tie him up since Abraham is way stronger than him). I'm also not sure Abraham would even fight his normal style since he knows that Mayweather cannot hurt him. Abraham might just walk Mayweather down or pin him on the ropes and bust up his body. I just don't see how Mayweather wins this fight given how he fights at the higher weights.

You don't need a tremendous amount of legs to control the center against Abraham. Abraham walks forward and simply times bombs as he punches with an opponent. Floyd's feints, reach, and quickness would take away the one trick he has. The movement he has at welterweight would be plenty.

If he does land a few clean shots, they're likely to be arm punches thrown as AA lunges forward with nothing on them. And Floyd is good enough on the inside to roll with Abraham's shots and tie up before restarting in the center.

That's not to say there's no risk or danger in it, but anytime Floyd vs a big puncher is brought up, you automatically favor the opponent.
