Floyd Mayweather vs Arthur Abraham...

Abraham hasnt fought at 160 in 3 1/2 years.

They guy is a SMW. Hes weighed in at over 160 more times in his career than hes weighed under it.

Floyd is a WW(not even a particularly big one) who fights at LMW for big money against guys who outweigh him by 10-15 lbs.

Abraham gets in the ring in the 170s, Floyd gets in the ring around 150-152.

So thats 20 lbs of a difference. Maybe 25.

Despite all that, Id still reckon Floyd takes him.

I'm no Floyd fan, but I could see him getting a UD over anyone currently at 160 except for Sergio.

I'm just looking from a view to where i'd expect AA to being a bit more frisky as he was a few years back. Skill wise it's a no contest, but this is the sort of contest where Floyd could get himself into a spot of bother with the judges whose perceptions of what is actually happening is another set of intangibles. One thing is for sure & thats the case of AA will land some albeit on the arms/thighs/hips & they'll hurt. That being said this is obviously a fight for Floyd to lose rather than AA to win.

 

I never said he has. This is a hypothetical thread. Abrahams prime weight was 160. Ray leonard was a WW and pretty similar to Floyd stature wise and he fought MW Hagler @ Haglers weight. He also fought Hearns @ 160 too. Don't act like i suggested a missmatch here. Floyd would only have to weigh a couple of lbs more than he did for cotto in which he looked absolutely ripped!

Judge with your eyes. Even Froch said Abraham is a hard puncher. Froch has a notoriously good chin and even he wouldn't sit and trade with Abraham. No one can.
