If Gatti Had beaten Manfredy he woulda faced Mayweather now this version of Gatti Hadnt had the wars with Ivan Robinson,Mickey Ward and beaten to a bloody pulp by Oscar,Mayweather not as seasoned tho i still think he would of won but would it have been closer.

It would've been closer, meaning Gatti might last a couple more rounds and suffer maybe only one 10-8 round.

Gatti against Mayweather (or DLH) at a different weight class ends up in the same result.

Gatti takes a brutal beating and loses every round.

Gatti beats Mayweather at no time in his career. End of story.

A "fresher" Gatti still avoids a straight right hand as well as Lindsay Lohan avoids cocaine.

Mayweather in 1998 completely dominated two superior fighters in Angel Manfredy and Genaro Hernandez.

And Gatti was weak @ 135 in 1998. That was the worst year of his career unless maybe you count this year.

Gatti gets annihilated and used as a punching bag. If he tries to wing those hooks then Mayweather would tear him up the middle with straight shots.

At lower weights Floyd punches harder.

Very true, I like Gatti for his heart but the man was lucky to have ever been champion.

What is Gatti going to do to make this close and competitive?

    Box with Mayweather?

Brawl and wing hooks? He'll get torn down the middle against the quicker and sharper Mayweather.

Mayweather is miles better than Ivan Robinson and Angel Manfredy.

The guys who made it close or at least competitive with Mayweather were:

Jose Luis Castillo, a much better pressure fighter than Gatti, who throws shorter punches, uses his body better to be physical, and is way more educated on the inside than Gatti.

Zab Judah: a lightning fast southpaw who was even quicker of hand than Mayweather.

Oscar De La Hoya: A bigger, taller guy with a terrific jab and MUUCCHH better skills, particularly of defense with his parrying ability, than Gatti.
