Mayweather better make sure he's going to set up a blockbuster for us fans by having Trout face Canelo, and the winner faces Mayweather...

But I KNOW Mayweather will just have Canelo fight Cotto, beat Cotto and then take up the Canelo fight and dodge the higher risk/lower financial reward fight in Austin Trout.

From a business perspective, that makes a lot of sense, but Mayweather should start thinking legacy now. He's proven that he can beat B+ fighters.

Out of all of the 43 wins, he only has around 5-6 A class names.

I actually don't mind this fight, but I bet Floyd may be doing this since he was getting a backlash for choosing Guerrero.

Watch for the ol' switcheroo back to the Ghost.

No it's not. And a Devon Alexander negotiation doesn't make the fight easier to swallow.

Guerrero has not proven himself, he lost against the best fighter BY MILES he has faced: Orlando Salido, and has just beaten a silver welterweight title kid in the unknown Aydin, and beat Berto who already was out for a while and got a beatdown from Ortiz and had bad eyesight in the Guerrero fight.

One of the reasons for fighting once was to keep his ppv numbers high when negotiating with Pacquiao
It's irrelevant now so he will fight twice
Might not be sept like his people have mentioned but could be nov/dec

Not sure how true it is but Floyd is rumoured to have offered Guerrero 2.5m but he wants 4m
Floyd vs Marquez with Canelo vs Trout on the undercard should do big numbers on may 4th

You're reading too much into it. Why would Floyd say Guerrero is 'just a rumour' only to revert back to it? Don't know why people think Guerrero is a much better fight for Floyd than Alexander, he's not. Both are equally **** fights.

Marquez is the favourite to get the fight but it hasn't been signed yet

I don't give Mayweather props for Oscar or Mosley.

Oscar was past it since 04'.

Sure Mosley was coming off his biggest win but Mosley on the Mayweather fight was not THE SHANE MOSLEY say of 2000. There's a difference.

JLC - I just think of it as one fight tbh because of Mayweather's shoulder problem early on which makes it VERY difficult to fight, and the controversy over the decision.

Alexander is a disgrace for pulling out of the Brook fight like he did. At least have the balls to admit that a bigger name is interested and ask Brook to step aside. Contracts were signed. Brook and his team have legal standing in this if they choose to make an issue of it. Devon most likely won't even end up facing Mayweather. The whole thing stinks if you ask me.

If Marquez gets a rematch it will be MORE ridiculous than Guerrero/Alexander fights because Mayweather has Marquez all figured out and the fight they had in 09' was so unbelievably one sided.

Guerrero is a useless fight. He beat a no hoper hype job on a roid comedown.
Alaxender is a much better and tougher fight.

What a **** he is, if he takes the fight Mayweather! Lose so much respect for him, Ortiz was way more proven than this **** who really should have 3 L's on his record

Let's face it, NOBODY IS ACTUALLY GOOD ENOUGH FOR A MAY 4TH BOUT.

Mayweather has to pick the best of a bad bunch.

He wants a lot of money, and wants a good opponent - both are EQUALLY important.

This means he SHOULD be fighting Bradley, the daddy of Alexander, Vasquez and Peterson, Bradley also has more
    star quality.
