Floyd Mayweather vs. Devon Alexander!

I think this is quite smart by Floyd.
The Guerrero fight was **** but Alexander is so much worse it will make Guerrero look accepteble when it does get made in the end.

 

Alexander is not a fighter a like whatsoever but he is better fighter than Guerrero and would beat Guererro handily. VS Floyd though it would make for a more boring fight than Guerrero would vs a guy with a lesser fanbase, doesn't make much sense at all.

 

Agreed! This fight is garbage! Devon's already been beaten convincingly. Why not fight Bradley, who already beat Alexander? No way in hell I'm watching this fight. If this is all Mayweather's fighting for, then maybe he should just retire. Devon Alexander has absolutely no chance against Floyd.

 

Man I have to agree with you on this, BIG TIME **** FIGHT!!! Im a at loss for words. And im a avid Floyd Mayweather fan, but he set himself up for ridicule picking this guy. I hate to say this but this is a total cherry pick..

not happy at all with this fight, should have been marquez in there with floyd, marquez deserves it more than the ghost or alexander

Worst fight of 2012

 

I was hoping Ghost would get his shot. Whether you like the idea of a Ghost/Mayweather fight, you knew Guerrero was going to bring it to Floyd. I was really looking forward to watching this PPV, but not so much now. I am positive the undercard is going to be amazing! It has to be, right? lol This might be his lowest PPV numbers in a while, if it isn't.

It could either be a publicity ploy, or as Shaunster says, pressure for Guerrero. Wouldn't be surprised in either case. But it is awkward to use a guy as a carrot without any intention behind it.

One guy pulls out against a scheduled opponent, everyone starts crying duck, and then next thing you know it turns out the "ducker" is actually getting a payday against someone far more legit than whoever they left hanging - making everyone look foolish.

Off the top of my head, Kevin Johnson vs. Odlanier Solis is an example. Johnson withdrew and Solis fans were crowing about how scared he was of big bad Solis...only for it to then be revealed that he was getting a shot at Vitali Klitschko. :!:

Personally I was pissed because I had tickets to see Johnson vs. Solis at MSG and had to settle for Solis vs. Barrett, but biz is biz.
