They're pretty even as far as overall talent and ability but I'd take Guerrero's 2 welterweight wins over Alexander's. Both are good but not great fighters and both have little chance against Mayweather. Guerrero's style would give him a better chance than Alexander and would be the better fight.
It would be a decent fight on a 3 fight a year schedule, on a 1 fight a year schedule it's inexcusable. The only excuse for this is if it's a tune up for Pacquaio or Alvarez although it maybe a tune up for Guerrero, Guerrero would be no gimme for Floyd, he's very good in my view. After a year out Floyd ideally needs a tune up before facing a top opponent
Shame on Alexander because he has disrespected Brook. IBF should take off Devon's belt because Brook was the mandatory. And shame on Floyd too, cause he is a ****ing horny ***** that has broken a marriage.
As others have said, talent and ability-wise, the two are pretty close, but Guerrero's style gives him a better chance against Floyd, and a far better chance of making the fight remotely entertaining. Alexander vs Floyd has a very good chance of being a snoozer with the styles. I would also agree that Guerrero's two wins at Welterweight are better than Alexander's, so he's more proven at the weight as well.
Sounds like age is starting to become a factor with Money.Alexander is no danger ans is boring as hell.Robert much more aggresive and would put up a much better fight.Alexander and Brook was an awful fight to begin with and would not have drawn flies to their "event".
