Probably been done numerous times before, but rather than digging up a five year old thread riddled with troll posts and insults, let's just start a fresh one. I think this would be a great fight, though Floyd began in much lighter weight classes and didn't really ascend to welter until being around 30+ what do you guys think?

Curry has a better jab, good defence, hits harder, is capable of being just as fast, big, strong welterweight and picked apart a defensive master over 15.

Floyd greater, but at 147 Curry was better. Curry, via decision.

Bruce Curry would give Floyd a decent fight.

1 must be really high on Cotto and Maidana whom I believe that in a way threw at least his 2nd fight with Floyd, and I do not rule out that most of Floyd's events were UWFi stuff (real punches and technique, but the winner is decided pre fight). If Maidana seemed in top shape and seemed like having intentions to win, Floyd would have brought an injury certificate from a doctor, postponed the fight, then pick another opponent.
Or does a sucked dry Alvarez make Floyd TBE?
Floyd is just a fraud. DeLaHoya was better and greater. At least DeLaHoya's fights were more real. Therefore the KDs vs Quartey, the anticlimax vs Trinidad, the KO loss vs Hopkins, the surprise loss to Pacquiao while agreeing to weaken himself, 2 decision losses to Mosley.
Seems like for all his power DLH never bribed the judges. Probably trusted their understanding that mishandling him will cost them in the future.
DeLaHoya, Mosley, Forrest, Curry, Starling were for real. Floyd, Hopkins, Jones, Ali, Louis were not.

I really like Mayweather's skill set...I think he is an ATG defensive fighter, I marvel at his longevity and dedication. He is beyond a doubt, the best managed fighter the game has ever seen...More power to him...
Okay with all that said...I'm not sure Mayweather would allow himself to be in the same ring with a prime Curry without some stipulation in place.
If Mayweather were to find himself in the ring with a prime Donald Curry it would be an excellent boxing match. Mayweather would have to be more mobile against a very good infighter like Curry...IMO it is Mayweather's ability to punch and move that would give Curry trouble. Curry had a tendency to set then fire at times...But Curry's own speed and power give Mayweather difficulty. Donald's accuracy and length might force Mayweather into periods of inactivity.
I lean towards Curry by decision in a very close fight.
