You mean when Cotto was a massive underdog vs Martinez and Margarito? Yeah you mustve forgot about that huh. Maidana had his moments. Watch the rematch lol.

Barkley is just too big and too strong even if he's mediocre. I don't see how this is even debatable. Floyd wouldn't have ever taken that fight even if Barkley went down to 154 on the scales, let alone 160.

Not at middleweight, they are also tiny

What does strength have anythingto do with it? You have to hit him first.

Yes because Barkley will land zero hits when far smaller inferior fighters with little power haven't ever landed on floyd right ?
They still fought zero credible guys in the middleweight division. But regardless they are tiny in comparison. Floyd loses, and don't think Barkley won't catch him on the ropes. Realistically he never would have fought Barkley.

Floyd would never ever ever ever ever fight Barkley at 160. Literally never.

If he did, he would lose. That pressure and power punching.

Floyd wouldn't make it. He would know better.

This kind of theoretical match up should be answered by the fact that Floyd himself - who had the clout to stack the deck in his favour - NEVER went to 160 against even a light touch belt holder (think Daniel Geale etc) let alone a bad style match up like Iran

No. Duran didn't even pull it off. Bad decision.

    Doubtful.

Duran had enough power, savagery, and skill to make Hagler box and was ahead on the scorecard going into the 12th if I remember correctly.

Mayweather is not going to 160, let alone against puncher of Barkley's caliber.

Why would you think this is nonsense?

Sanderline Williams was a MW who hung with Toney and went the distance with Gerald.

    It’s not about skills.

    It’s about styles and attributes.

How offensive minded would Floyd have been?

He’s never fought an aggressive MW in his life.

A crude, aggressive WW gave him all that he could handle.

What does your second point have to do with anything??

Every thread is the same with you.

    When will you learn?

Was Barkley better than a prime Michael Nunn?

    What happened in that fight?

    Was Barkley better than Hearns?

    What happened in those fights?

    Was Maidana better than Canelo?

What happened when Floyd fought Maidana?

Your second point is completely and utterly irrelevant.

Canelo was a young and inexperienced fighter.

He was a non aggressive counterpuncher with a small reach.

He didn’t press Floyd at all.

Iran Barkley was tall, with a bigger reach.

    He was very aggressive.

He’d have had zero respect for Floyd, where he’d have pressed him at every opportunity.

He’d have thrown power punches without any concern for what was coming back.

It makes no difference if Canelo was better technically.

You are only looking specifically from Floyd’s perspective.

Despite Canelo being better than Barkley, to Floyd, Barkley would have been a terrible stylistic match up for him.

    More nonsense from you.

Trying to debate on stats rather than styles.

Sumbu Kalambay was an excellent fighter.

    He was a MW.

Floyd never fought at MW, and he’d never have been as offensive against Barkley as what Kalambay was.

    Styles.

Why are you so incapable of absorbing this?
