Stylistically Floyd could do to Barkley what Toney did to Barkley but Floyd won’t fight at 160 pounds so this is a moot point. If Barkley comes down to 154pounds Floyd draws blood and puts him in hospital. The gap in skills is too much.
Ya the one thing guys feared about Money Mayweather was his fearsome punching power & being put in the hospital after brutal KO's...
It’s not just about skills. Otherwise Floyd wouldn’t have embarrassed Canelo, then had a tough fight with a far less skilled Maidana just 8 months later. Even if it was 154, Iran had height, reach, strength and power, and he’d have shown Floyd zero respect. Iran was limited, but he was enough to beat Hearns and cause a prime Nunn serious trouble. Stylistically, Floyd would never have fought Barkley like Toney did. Floyd would never have been as offensive and as aggressive against a guy of Barkley’s style and size. Put him in hospital with what? He had no power. He only had 3 fights above WW. He had competitive fights with faded versions of Oscar and Cotto. He wouldn’t have put a dent in Iran Barkley. It would have been a terrible stylistic match up for Floyd.
Floyd would only entertain a catchweight at 140 as Barkley would have to chop off both his arms to make weight. He would still potshot to a cautious UD.
Mayweather would beat the hell out of Barkley so just stop with the nosense. Mike Tinley who was a good soild boxer got ROBBED vs Barkley. Sanderline Williams gave Iran hell and that fight could have gone either way. Neither one are close to the skills of a Mayweather. Iran who I do admire beat Hearns fair and square because Tommy got reckless and Iran caught him but prior to that Hearns could not miss Iran. And the rematch, which I actually thought Hearns won, was A SPLIT DECISION . Iran does deserve credit for not giving up and his upset of Hearns was a real life Rocky movie and has its place in boxing history forever. But people are getting carried away now. Mayweathers biggest strength was his ability to adjust.
1) Fight would never happen because Floyd would find a way to get out of it, he is TBE at that 2) If it did, he would lose 3) If he won (very unlikely), he would be winning 1 of his boring pitty pat UD's that litter his later career at higher weights. You Floyd meat riders seem to think he was some Julian Jackson or Gerald McClellan the way you go on about him putting Barkley in a hospital or "beating the hell out of him". May be you got Barkley mixed up with Floyd's baby mama
You obviously never saw Pretty Boy Floyd before his hands got damaged. He was a superb combination puncher. See Ricky Hatton and Arturo Gatti fights as a reference point.
