I don't know what to think of the Canelo fight, it almost reminded me of Whitaker vs Chavez, not so much in the styles but that you were waiting for something to happen and suddenly it was round 12 and the decision and you realized one guy had been totally shut down. Don't get me wrong Alvarez is a fine fighter but I am still not totally convinced his poor showing was purely down to Mayweather's skills (great as they are). Canelo seemed hesitant and overawed and couldn't find a gear as well as having no plan B (or in fact any flight plan!).

Iran was a much more live opponent vs Duran IMO than Canelo so it is hard to judge the Mayweather win when it is against someone seemingly fighting so passively vs an ATG match between two guys giving 100%. I am not convinced Floyd can't shutdown Iran as far as skills but I can't see Iran not going for it and that may make the difference here?

 

Show me some fighters whose punch output and connect percentage didn’t drop against Mayweather and get back to me.

 

Show us where Floyd fought a powerful and aggressive MW.
