Come on, Canelo brought zero aggression against Floyd who took him to school. Barkley would show no respect and go after Floyd in a manner he has never experienced, and that against a man who is much bigger than anybody he fought before. Canelo is 5ft8 and fought May at a catchweight of 152. Barkley is 6ft1 who would fight May at 160, Barkley looked like a light heavy at 160 for christ sakle. We all know that Floyd is teh much more skilled operator but in my opinion Barkely is just too big. The poll overwhelmingly shows Barkely as the winner. This is no mark against Floyd who quite frankly has no business fighting Iran at 160.

Considering that they’re completely different fighters, of a completely size and with completely different styles and attributes, their similar fight night weights are of no relevance whatsoever.

Otherwise, we’d be saying that because Floyd easily beat Canelo, that he also could have beaten anybody else throughout history who weighed around that weight.

But not even you could be that stupid.

The Kovalev example is also irrelevant.

I asked you which aggressive MW Floyd ever fought?

The fact is, he never fought one.

No disagreeing with you but having rewatched this I honestly don't think Canelo put up a good performance, compared to ODLH, Castillo etc it was rather tepid and Alvarez seemed very flat. Where Floyd's performance was great IMO was seemingly to psych out the younger guy and of course simply taking on younger more powerful fighter at a higher weight. For these reasons it was a great win, however I am simply pondering how Floyd does against a bigger guy who is firing on all cylinders?

Canelo was inexperienced against elite fighters, and he showed Floyd too much respect.

However, apart from the ludicrous C-W, Floyd deserves huge credit. And especially seeing as though he was 36.

But Iran Barkley would have been a different proposition altogether.

Look at the fights against Nunn and Hearns.

Floyd was 5’8 with bad hands and zero power.

Iran would have been more than happy to have took a number of shots just to have landed a few of his own.

He’d have had no concern whatsoever for Floyd’s offensive arsenal.

He’d have just driven forward and walked him down with aggressive power punches. And whether they’d have landed or not, Floyd would have been backed up into a defensive position.

Iran would have pursued him at every opportunity, where he’d have roughhoused him on the inside, both on the ropes and in the corners. And he wouldn’t have cared what he hit. Arms, gloves, shoulders, whatever. It wouldn’t have mattered if they’d have been clean or glancing blows.

Floyd would have been on his bike, with little time and space to have put together his own offence.

It would have been like the Maidana fight, but with a big MW instead of a similar sized WW.

It would have been a terrible stylistic match up for Floyd.

It wouldn’t have been a fight based upon skills.

It would have been a fight between a cautious former LW, and a big aggressive MW.

The fight would have been decided purely on size and strength.

There’s no way that Floyd could realistically have beaten him.

He wouldn’t have had the offensive opportunities needed to have banked the majority of the rounds, and he had no power to have deterred him from pouring forward at every opportunity, with none whatsoever in order to have stopped him or knocked him out.

Floyd was a genius, and obviously levels above Barkley on a P4P basis. But he simply didn’t have the tools needed to have beaten him in an actual H2H fight.

It’s a fight that’s remembered incorrectly. Canelo fought a high IQ fight but Mayweather just had answers for him.

Barkley would’ve run through Kalambay if he were capable of doing that.

    Floyd was not Kalambay.

    Kalambay was a legit MW.

Floyd wasn’t even a legit JMW.

Floyd was a 5’8 WW, with bad hands and zero power.

Floyd would not have had the offensive arsenal that Kalambay had at the weight.

Floyd would have been backed up.

    You saw Maidana do it.

So what do you think a 6ft plus aggressive MW would have done?

It’s not about who the better guy is/was.

    It’s about styles.

Everyone has a ceiling and a stylistic nemesis.

No version of Floyd was ever beating aggressive and powerful world class MW’s.

There’s a reason why he only fought above WW just 3 times in his career.

It’s absolutely hilarious how you’ve rambled on about how important reach is in the past and shift gears to nitpicking official weights over in ring weights because it suits your agenda. Kalambay didn’t fight exclusively at 160 btw. He often came in light.

There ya go........the way is paved.

Q: A lot of fans, they don’t know you fought as a heavyweight, champ? Iran Barkley: “It was easy for me, because I used to walk around at 225, 226 pounds, this when I’m off [between fights for an amount of time], so I walked around at that kind of weight. I had to lose all that weight to become a middleweight, later a super-middleweight and then a light heavyweight. And I paid the price, because I needed time to take the weight off. I would always make my weight three or four days before the fight. I went up and down. But it was getting hard for me, and I said I was just gonna fight at light heavyweight or whatever.”

Your "source" is a totally unverifiable claim made by Iran himself with the ulterior motive of justifying, to the public, his doomed cash grab at heavyweight. Unfortunately, it only staved off his inevitable homelessness for a short period.

The court deems this evidence inadmissible and, quite frankly, you owe us all an apology for participating in Barkley's exploitation.
