Robinson wasn't at his peak in 1942, but being the only fighter to beat him through his first 131 fights - albeit with a weight advantage - is pretty incredible.

Agreed. So maybe it would just make for one boring fight then. I can't see Floyd taking potshots at Lamotta all night and not getting frustrated with him. But your statement does speak the truth.

 

Agreed Mayweather definately would have to dig deep,Lamotta is definately capable of troubling Floyd,but I just don believe that style beats Floyd. He will adjust and win by decision.

By many accounts 4-1 over their first five fights flatters Robinson. Either way, they were all very competitive.

Lamotta was a much better boxer than he is usually given credit for, and had an excellent jab.

With modern weigh-in rules, Lamotta would rehydrate back up into the 160s and have a significant size and strength advantage. It's one thing to hold your own in the clinches with Ricky Hatton, and another thing entirely against one of the strongest middleweights in history.

Lamotta could be troubled by movers, and it's possible that Floyd could use his legs and potshot his way to a points win. The more likely result though is that Lamotta is just too strong and wears Floyd down over the stretch for a clear UD win.

If same day weigh-in, all bets are off, as Jake would have to starve himself to make 154.

An ancient Oscar De La Hoya, and Cotto....if you're considering Cotto in Lamotta's class, you're badly mistaken......Lamotta would spit at any punch Floyd threw at him, and demolish Mayweather to the body. Mayweather has never faced a fighter with as much rage as Lamotta......Floyd would wilt under the pressure.
