    How would Joe have dominated?

Floyd would have been just as fast, if not faster, and technically superior.

Towards the end of his career he certainly did. But not when he was PBF.

Also, some of Joe’s fights were really scrappy and not good to watch.

I am, which is why I went with Calzaghe, and I am being serious. Calzaghe is stylistically, literally the worst possible opponent Mayweather could have ever faced. A versatile southpaw swarmer, with an insane gas tank, great chin, who knew how to cut off the ring and used effective aggression, who could also adjust not only mid fight, but mid round. Mayweather would be befuddled from start to finish.

But he didn't, and B-Hop fights nothing like Mayweather, so the comparison is irrelevant.

Well that would be Floyd Joy Sinclair Mayweather Jr. Calzaghe had some great accomplishments in his career. He had a fine career. But Floyd had accomplishments on top of accomplishments. I would list em but we all know what they are. But IMO these 2 guys shouldnt be compared. Compare Calzaghe to say Carl Froch maybe.

Mayweather by far and away in every single category.

We need to be realistic here.

Yes, Joe was great. But he wasn’t on Floyd’s level in terms of overall skills.

    Floyd was technically superior.

In many of his fights, Joe concentrated more on volume rather than accuracy.

He could be very scrappy at times.

We saw how Hopkins landed the cleaner punches in their fight.

Joe was also always susceptible to right hands all throughout his career, even when fighting low level opposition.

Yes, Joe’s southpaw style, fast hands and work rate would have caused Floyd a lot of issues. But to say that he’d have absolutely dominated him is just based on nothing.

    It’s a gross exaggeration.

Joe never dominated an elite level guy his whole career.

If you seriously think that he was good enough to have dominated a 5’11 version of Floyd Mayweather, then you need to ask yourself why he struggled against Hopkins, Reid and Bika, and why he was in a competitive fight with Kessler.

If they were both the same size, Floyd would have been a clear favourite.

I disagree. Also..... struggling with Kessler, Bika and Hopkins is not a big deal. However, arguably losing to Maidana, Castillo and struggling with a shot to bits De La Hoya and Cotto is. For what it's worth, Mayweather would struggle terribly with Hopkins, Bika and Kessler if he was their size, as well.

It’s a very big deal if we’re looking at your hypothetical scenario.

A version of Floyd Mayweather who’d have been the same size as Joe would have been an incredible fighter.

Oscar was faded, not shot to bits. And Oscar was taller, heavier and had a longer reach.

In your scenario, both fighters would have been the same size.

Kessler wasn’t an A level, elite level fighter.

Robin Reid was a B-C class fighter who lost to Malinga and Branco either side of fighting Joe.

    You’re talking nonsense.

Again, a fast southpaw with a great engine would have troubled Floyd. Of course he would have. I understand that. But what about Joe’s flaws?

What about his poor defence and his scrappy technique?

At the same size, Floyd would still have been technically superior with a better defence. He’d still have been as fast as Joe.

There wouldn’t have been any domination.

If he couldn’t have dominated lesser guys in his own career, it stands to reason he wouldn’t have dominated a bigger version of Floyd.

    You’ve exaggerated.

That’s all there is to it.

I am surprised you can utter such nonsense with a straight face. Pacquiao is a much better pound for pound fighter than super Joe Calzaghe an energy bunny with superior skill and speed and you see how Floyd dealt with him gave him a boxing lesson. Calzaghe is a great fighter but don’t be ridiculous.

Winning 116-112 arguably 115-113 isn't quite a schooling, I'll play your tricks from the Canelo thread now. Quit being so emotional, sorry. I think your boyfriend would get his ass handed to him by Calzaghe. No amount of insults and fit throwing from you is going to change my opinion. Deal with it.

Actually Kessler is a better win than anything on Mayweather's resume...
