Mayweather would outbox Chavez just like Whitaker did. Chavez could be outboxed. He wouldnt have been able to bulldoze Mayweather. Dont let Mayweather's personality get in the way of the fact that he's a masterboxer. He'd get hit, but Mayweather can fight, he just dosent do it very often.
If it's Chavez when he was just moving into 140 and still very dangerous and strong, then JCC wins on points every time. EVERY time. PBF can't hurt him, and if he gets too aggressive he will GET hurt. JCC wins round after round with sheer aggression and more shots landed. They might not be landed clean, but they will land, and they will hurt.
That's wasn't a prime JCC that fought Whitaker. 140 wasn't even his best weight. Mayweather CAN fight, and he has a pretty good pop, but not enough to dent JCC's chin and if he fights too hard and too long he's gonna get caught with something that will put him on his back.
If this fight takes place at 140 I pick Floyd wide. This was Floyds best weight, threw punches in bunches, but still used alot of mobility in the ring. He'd give Chavez nightmares. Floyd is the far superior boxer to Meldrick Taylor and has an excellent defense. Unlike Taylor whow was easy to find. If Whitaker could beat him so widely I dont see how Mayweather couldnt win a close decision atleast. And please dont use Castillo was a litmus test. Floyd was injured, beat Castillo in the second fight decisively.
Please don't use the ridiculous "If Whitaker could..." argument. Floyd is nothing like SweetPea. Chavez by late KO.
Floyd is as good defensively as Whitaker. Not as good offensively. But that is moot. If lil Whitaker could clown that nicca, then Floyd could to. There skill levels arent that far apart. I actually think Floyd has more power.
i hate the way some think whitaker WON SO WIDE ..... my scorecard was 115-113 to pea, some rounds could be one way or another ... but man, running like a chicken all the fricking fight ... DAMN !!! the agressive figther must get some credit in the hardest rounds to score ....
Sweet Pea pretty much fought in the pocket. He did turn Chavez alot, but thats just good boxing. I gave Chavez about 3 rounds. Oh and you score effective aggression. Not aggression. And seeing how Chavez got his head snapped back every time he got close to Whitaker, it wasnt effective.
at 140 i would say small edge for floyd, chavez at 140 wasnt at his best at 135 i would say chavez by late ko...
Floyd had three fights at 140 and his biggest win was against a shot Gatti do you have any idea how many quality defenses JCC had there?
Corley was good gatekeeper. Fought an SD with Judah and floored Cotto a few times in their fight before a hometown stoppage. Its not who he fought but how he looked at the weight. Yeah Chavez beat solid B level fighters in Camacho, Taylor and Haugen, but he also fought about 30 cabbies aswell. Floyd looked his best at 140, in terms of power, speed and manuverability.
130-140 floyd was a beast, floyd by ud 116-112 lets not talk about floyd getting ko because that **** hasn't happen yet nor we havent seen floyd badly messed up or bruised. He would take chavez punches clearly
Man please don't go that route, it just makes you look desperate. Even if you want to include those cabbies, JCC's resume at 140 shits all over FLoyds!
